Knight's Boots....is it really worth using them still?

Before that one update that changed how the knight's armor's 'damage reduction' functioned, I used the following armor on my warrior

Collectors helm with +1 Axe Mastery, glads chest arms and legs, and knights boots for the global damage reduction.

But now that the global damage reduction no longer exists, should I keep the knight's boots or get gladiator boots? Or maybe another set of boots?

If it helps any, I use my warrior for farming and other PvE things.

I've never thought that 2 damage was much, but either go for a knights chest part or a -damage rune on the chest piece

feet are the least hit body part I think, or the second least hit

even though I forgot it was still global[thanks zui], I would still put it on the chest piece just in case AN wants to rework those runes

1 energy is not that important so really there is no benifit, but since boots have the same damage stats, there is no real disadvantage either. Other than being called a n00b, odd how it used to be all knights=n00b, now it is boots/gloves =n00b

Hi, Absorbtion from Runes is global. It's been like this since Day 1.

Boots have a 12.5% chance of being hit.

Lose the Knights and get yourself Glad's boots. Not for the sake of effectiveness, but at least you won't look like a clown anymore.

Honestly, I don't think it matters much. But I personally would prefer the additional energy.

No, they aren't.

Yeah I've been leaning towards getting the glads boots to complete the set (well 4/5 of the set), and I guess it wouldn't make too much of a difference in combat either. I think I've just about made my decision.

If you're talking about runes, and runes no longer being global, then you're mistaken. That quote you posted was about armor. Runes were not changed from global to local protection, period.

Read my post again. Now stop, and think.

The text I quoted was from the GuildWars.com Game Updates page, referring to Knights Armor. Therefore is it likely that I am talking about Runes, or Knights Armor?

Think.

yes the knights armor is not global anymore it only takes the dmg off from the body part that was hit butthe runes are still global and better stay that way

I would keep your knights boots if they are infused and don't want to get infused agian.I changed my armour to all Glads as well but kept my Knight pieces.I know but my absortion rune on my chest.I just would like to see rune reverted back to all damage not just physical.

That would be nice. It may have not seemed like very much, but the reduction from shields, runes, and armor really did help.

As for armor now, the only real areas where variation will be a big help will be in the helmet or stonefist gauntlets if you're using a hammer.

Are you referring to the title of this thread or to the post above you? Because it seems like you're saying that the update you've quoted wasn't actually implemented. It's more logical, though, that you're referring to the thread title and saying "No, knights boots aren't worth using anymore". It's kind of hard to figure out what your short comment is referring to when it's stuck in the middle of a thread underneath a good number of potential posts that you could be referring to.

The confusion probably came from the fact that your post is wrong. Knight's armor now only reduces damage in the area that piece is covering.

You have Knight's boots, your feet have physical damage reduction.
