Recently, I found out that crafting rare materials from common materials actually cost more than just buy them from rare material trader. So, why bother even have material crafting?

Steel Ingot cost 200 to craft, while it only cost you 190 to buy one from rare material trader.

Now I think...why go through all the trouble to craft rare materials?

Thats true steel is outdated. When superior salvage kits came out. People could salvage steel and sell for less than it cost to make thus driving the prices down. Same is true for linnen and parchment to some degree.

Don't worry when nightfall comes out it will be cheaper to craft again, as the demand goes up the prices will go up aswell and crafting will be profitable again.
