bring henches let them run in and die then you run and come back and res minions and that should be a good start. As for place anywere with medium lvl creatures that are fleshy.

I think you'd be better off just doing a 55 necro.
If you bring Henchies, you'll lose a lot of your drops to the henchies.
Then, if you don't bring henchies, you'll need to bring large damage dealing skill(s) that involve death magic, which takes up skill room.
Then you'll need a way to protect yourself... Flesh Golem and Taste of Death?
I'd just go with a 55.

pueb, the previous poster's point is that you let all the hench die, then raise them as mins. Once you get a couple aggro circles away, they won't get drops.
edit: anyways to answer your question, is farming with an mm effective......if you are just farming mobs, like mantids and outcasts, I suppose it would as long as you can keep your momentum with killing as fast as your mins are dying. The packs would have to be close enough that you can go from one to the next without them degening too fast, but not so close that stray mins will aggro more packs and you get overrun. If you are farming bosses (which is what I do), it definitely would NOT be effective, as you just want to isolate the boss. This goes for Factions.

About 10-15k. Its much less expensive then creating a 55 monk.

And are the skills mosty factions or mixed? I should be picking up the first one soon anyway.
