Emote and Cast

I've done it, well not really, I did it one time when facing a Necro. Killed the poor guy with power spike while dancing. When I first did it, my dance didn't change.

There are two reasons for this:

1) Aftercast is an idle state, so Emotes aren't affected.

2) Upon testing, and using the resources about Fast Casting on Gwiki, 1/10th of a second warrants the conditions of "instantaneous casting"

To do this, you need to have a 20% half cast on your weapon and have your Fast Casting attribute set to rank 5 at least (which reduces cast time by...about 20%) and use spells with 1/4 activation time.

Now because of aftercast, if you manage to pull this off, you wont do the normal action you should do when you cast spells but you'll just stand there for like a second, so it wont work effectively while running. So, test it for yourself. Perform an emote, take a 1/4 cast spell, and a 20 mod, and see for yourself^^.

Oh, this only works for 1/4 cast spells. I dont know if there are any 1/2 cast spells, but based on my findings, you still wont be able to instant-cast even if you have 16 to your attribute... shows just how "limited" fast casting is.

Performed another test, this one will give a quicker result if anyone ever wants to see it for themselves.

Fast Casting: 5 (minimum)
Illusion Magic: 12
Signet of Illusions
Infuse Health
Holy Haste

Use Signet of Illusions and then Holy Haste. Find a target and use the /excited emote (or any other continuous emote), followed by the use of the skill Infuse Health on target ally.

Now, be aware that the first time you do this, you will break out of your emote and turn to face your target, but you wont make any other action at all. Do not worry about this, just don't move, and re-type the emote again, and then re-cast Infuse Health. The second effect will not cause you to break out of your emote.

Here's the math that proves that the point of instantaneos casting is 1/10th speed:

0.25 Normal Cast Time
0.20 < Normal Cast Time influenced by Fast Casting Rank 5:
0.10 << Normal Cast Time influenced by Holy Haste (50% ereduction) and Fast Casting

LoL, I can see it now. People all over RA are going to get slaughtered while dancing and trying to cast at the same time.

No, the foes will stand there with their mouths open, wondering what you are doing.

"What is he doing? Is this a new Skill?"

When they figure it out, then they will mob you for making fun of them.

Great job Terra Xin, sounds like fun.

Same goes for Glimmer + Holy Haste + Healer's Boon + HCT 20%

1/4>1/8>1/16>1/32!

How's that for fast casting?

How's that for fast casting? Sweet! And I thought I was doing well with my Healer's Boon + HCT 20% = 2 second Ressurection Chant!

You'd have to put Healer's Boon on first though since Holy Haste comes off otherwise Gotta Try that later! Sounds fun.
