Hi, as some of u know i recently achieved my kind of a big deal title. the problem is that chestrunning today i had an INSANE amount of golds and rare skin. usualy i drop this stuff in weeks and weeks, but i dropped them all in 2 hours today.
wondering wtf did happened here. i can understand 1 drop, maybe 2, but hell look at what i got in 50 chests (F-I-F-T-Y).
I was thinking... maybe there's a boost in drops as a reward for getting this title? something like "Hey i'm your game client, gratz on getting big deal. here u go, for a day all the chests u open worths a ton."
i know at least 3-4 ppl with KOBD post here on guru: have u guy noticed any drop improvement?
I'm sorry if this seems auto-celebrative, it's not my purpouse, i am rly shocked by this, wish to know how it works and if there's a boost like it seems to me.
i kept all these unids as i wanted to show u this screen. one gothic axe r9 seems to have +5 energy, amber aegis has 30hp always. havent tested the stuff deeply yet btw!

Seams like they might have doubled the chest drops early, Since they forgot to double the drop rates on time last weekend for the "elit" missions

Where do you chestrun? If its an area not many people "farm" the chance of better drops is higher as well...cause it's not being overfarmed like a lot of areas.

oh sorry forgot to mention. i run with 2 other guys and all they got was a full storage of amber wands and amber staves.
it was just me dropping these things. double gold rate triggered early? i think so. but that does explain just why so many gold items, not why all those rare skins and low req TO ME ONLY
the run is the usual melandru run, whenre the entire kurzick population runs for faction points, so drops would have been supposed to be stinky poo

Congrats on your KOABD! Hopefully I'll be joining that club in the near future, so I can't tell you if it's a perk for the title or just a bit of very good luck. My guess would be luck, because I've had a couple of instances where I'd get a couple of really nice drops checking just 4 or 5 chests.

Update. after massive tests i identified the weapons supposed to be good:
+5energy req9 gothic axe
15^50 req8 dual gothic axe
15%-10 req9 platinum blade
30-2stance req9 amber aegis.
rest was tested as poo and will be sold as unidentified
so be sure don't buy any unid from me 
after this i can sum up that my 2 hours of crazy drops yesterday profited me around 150ish ectos or more if there's huge demand for this shield...

Thoes all appear to be Kurzick style items. Is the double gold supposed to come from Canthan chests (opened by Canthan keys) or is it Canthan chests in the sense of the chest is somewhere in Cantha (including Luxon, Kurzick, Forbidden, etc.)?

I was working on the quest to get to the Unwaking Water mission and 4 out of 5 chests were gold.
However 5 out of 5 were crap.

I just took two weeks off from GW for personal/family reasons. Anywyas last night I log in and there's a group forming for Ring of Fire Mish/Bonus which I needed on my monk, so I join up and off we go.
1st Chest for me popped a req 8 rare fellblade-go figure. It ended up being 15% stance though...

Damn man, I was getting really great skins yesterday.. out of all the keys though(about close to 20 chest) I only got 1 thing worth mentioning, a 15>50 req 8 dragon schythe, which the market has drastically dropped for. Still I got all the great skins, just the stuff I ID were all crap, and yeah I ID everything, I don't sell un'ids. Oh well, maybe some luck will turn out, who knows.

I joined in a run with Guin n Johnny yesterday... ended up with 4 Gothic Swords, only 1 worth mentioning, req8 15^50. But even that doesn't compare with this.
By the end of this weekend event it seems Guin will have made about 2-3million.

If this was true i can only congradulate those that got their KOABD titles for getting their millions during this weekend and stop buying keys for chest while looking for something else to play perhaps.

finally came around to checking the thread..quite impressive. would be interesting if any other KOABDs could verify their 'results'. :P
and i would have stayed on a few more chestruns with you to see for myself how great those chests really are (compared to my drops :P), but my amazing loading time of 2-3 minutes killed me there. :d
i noticed better drops in general, for me and for allies, some had really nice drops, but not all for one single person. :P kinda freaky >.>

for the record i do not have a title. when titles first came out i expected that there would be rewards for maxing out titles besides public recignition. i thought wisdom would eliminate the need for iden kits or the chest one would take away for keys. i think it would be cool because for most getting the max treasure hunter title you would spend 6 million buying keys from traders. might be pretty niffty.

What if it isnt KoaBD, and instead its the Wisdom title doing it? ID 10,000 items so you get better drops to id? Unless its just plain luck.

No! you would have to be severely mentally handicapped to fall for that. Anyone (including some newbies in my guild i taught) can test unid's. In addition, caster weapons are a lot harder to test and dont sell for that much unid'ed. The point is, someone requiring wisdom title may want to buy it and so it would be more profitable to sell it for 1k~ then to merchant those High Req amber wands.

Well I was planning on dropping 500k on keys for the weekend event but did a few runs and thought it wasnt worth my time + I went away all day sunday and most of saturday.
4 golds dropped out of the first 5 chests that opened. I did a few more and the majority were golds. I ided them and they all sucked bar a 15-10al r13 amber longbow. Personally I think unless you can prove you had whatever uber items you say you got I am scepticle. I dont know you or what your about but some could say this was just an attempt to make out how uber you are with your KOABD title. I dont know what to think but screenshots are always nice to back-up statements...
I also dont think the KOABD title has anything to do with getting good drops. Noone has seen the quality of the drops so nothing can be proven/falsified.
I strongly object to people selling tested items. To state here very very clearly how you did extensive tests on each item and plan on selling them on the high end is disgusting. You know and have stated the items for sale are not worth iding / are crap and are willing to "scam" someone who thinks maybe they havnt been tested / you havnt tested the caster items properly. If you state they have been tested or are for the id title only then I guess that is ok. But to sell items unided and not indicate you have tested them when stating here you have is very unethical. GG using GuildWarsGuru to cheat people by selling as you stated tested items.

From a math standpoint, if you were in a group of, say, 5 chest runners you and you brought 50 keys this weekend, chances are you'd open about 40+ gold chests.
40 Gold chests is more than enough to produce the 10 or so decent items you show on page one, give or take.
