Kind of a Big Deal: Better drops as a reward for getting this title?

Hi, as some of u know i recently achieved my kind of a big deal title. the problem is that chestrunning today i had an INSANE amount of golds and rare skin. usualy i drop this stuff in weeks and weeks, but i dropped them all in 2 hours today.

wondering wtf did happened here. i can understand 1 drop, maybe 2, but hell look at what i got in 50 chests (F-I-F-T-Y).
I was thinking... maybe there's a boost in drops as a reward for getting this title? something like "Hey i'm your game client, gratz on getting big deal. here u go, for a day all the chests u open worths a ton."
i know at least 3-4 ppl with KOBD post here on guru: have u guy noticed any drop improvement?



I'm sorry if this seems auto-celebrative, it's not my purpouse, i am rly shocked by this, wish to know how it works and if there's a boost like it seems to me.
i kept all these unids as i wanted to show u this screen. one gothic axe r9 seems to have +5 energy, amber aegis has 30hp always. havent tested the stuff deeply yet btw!

Seams like they might have doubled the chest drops early, Since they forgot to double the drop rates on time last weekend for the "elit" missions

Where do you chestrun? If its an area not many people "farm" the chance of better drops is higher as well...cause it's not being overfarmed like a lot of areas.

oh sorry forgot to mention. i run with 2 other guys and all they got was a full storage of amber wands and amber staves.
it was just me dropping these things. double gold rate triggered early? i think so. but that does explain just why so many gold items, not why all those rare skins and low req TO ME ONLY

the run is the usual melandru run, whenre the entire kurzick population runs for faction points, so drops would have been supposed to be stinky poo

They were not late on uping the double drop rates for Urgoz/The Deep. They ended up having to increase drop rates beyond that to make a difference, FYI.

Congrats on your KOABD! Hopefully I'll be joining that club in the near future, so I can't tell you if it's a perk for the title or just a bit of very good luck. My guess would be luck, because I've had a couple of instances where I'd get a couple of really nice drops checking just 4 or 5 chests.

how do you get KOABD? ive wanted to for a while, but i just dont know how :P

Update - Friday August 4

• Fixed a bug in Elite missions that caused rare items to drop less frequently than intended during the Elite Weekend event.

I didnt just get wands and staffs I got a gothic axe and a gothic defender too lmao. But yeah you have had quite amazing luck.

Actually, ID them, and then post them. Those could all be weapons of dragonslaying with no other mods to speak of. =D

Update. after massive tests i identified the weapons supposed to be good:
+5energy req9 gothic axe
15^50 req8 dual gothic axe
15%-10 req9 platinum blade
30-2stance req9 amber aegis.

rest was tested as poo and will be sold as unidentified so be sure don't buy any unid from me

after this i can sum up that my 2 hours of crazy drops yesterday profited me around 150ish ectos or more if there's huge demand for this shield...

Just curious, which chests did you run? The Luxon ones?

Thoes all appear to be Kurzick style items. Is the double gold supposed to come from Canthan chests (opened by Canthan keys) or is it Canthan chests in the sense of the chest is somewhere in Cantha (including Luxon, Kurzick, Forbidden, etc.)?

dang... that many nice skin ~ low req drops in 50???????

That's a lot.... maybe KOABD does give some passive boost?

Well, just for everybodys info, first two forbidden chests I opened were gold. So, perhaps the event is on. Although, I really must say gold doesn't equal good.
