Auto assigning guild leader

I recently joined a guild that the original guild leader bumped by the game. He was away for a few months, and the game had auto assigned a new leader and dropped him to officer. Now, the current guild leader is MIA. How long does it take before the game auto-assigns a new leader?

it does that? i didnt even know, maybe he came back and made someone els leader

actually it does auto assign the leader to the most active officer in guild. the title on the new leader will say "promoted to leader by guild wars".

Yikes. Well, I guess that's not too bad. I think it's been 6 weeks now, so a couple more weeks. Guess that is what happens when RL calls you away. Darn RL.

Thanks for the advice to change guilds, but I think I'll stay. It's a nice group of fun people, albeit small, which is what I was looking for.

this happened to me, i was auto assigned leader of my guild, the process took about 3 months if i remember. the original leader is in the service and was sent to iraq, so his playing days were over for a while, thank god he came home. i am still the leader of my guild , for he is away on another assignment. all i did was re-organise the guild and recruited people that fit for me. the original leader, btw, did re log on and stated to me that it was better for me to remain leader, i did re offer him the position, but his schedule wont allow him to be on much. enjoy your new leadership job and god speed on the re building process.
