3 trips up to his spot with henchies have left me rather short on temper. Boss no longer spawning there, or just obnoxiously hateful bad luck?

took me 5 trips from that outpost near the SS cap to the SS cap spot, keep trying I guess

You might wanna share where is it that you're searching for the skill. Afaik has nothing to do with any "SS cap spot".

Capped it two days ago on my mesmer. As I remember this is one of the more regular spawners as he doesnt share his spawnpoints with other bosses, he can spawn at two places tho.

There are 3 spots where he could spawn.

3 days ago capped him just next to the first Mursaat gate.

Yep, that is, quite possibly, the most hellish cap in the game. I seem to remember him being not exactly at the spot xennon said he would be, he was a bit further in, maybe he moves around a bit?
