I noticed that since a recent update, all chat posts that start with "WTB" or "WTS" are automatically placed in the "trade" channel. I think this is unessessary, not only because people find creative ways to get around it, but also because in my opinion, more people are now using the normal chat channel for trade offers/requests.
Please offer some input.

unnecessary? it saves me from having to switch from general to trade, I find that useful. And there have always been alot of people trading in the general chat, but there wasn't an increase because of that particular update, it just makes the general chat with WT B look unisghtly.
You really shouldn't make a post about this unless you have brought up your own solutions, instead of just saying that it's not needed.

I think you just want to spam local chat again without altering the WTB and WTS lines.
I was quite happy when they did this, too bad they didn't think to add in some of the common alterations to the list of things that would be moved to trade channel...

There have been a bunch of threads on this already as this was implemented OVER A MONTH AGO.
More people are using trade because of this. Some were too lazy to switch to drade and then to local to talk to someone while trading. This makes it easier.
I dont know why people dont read update notes.

The funny thing is, if people have their trade channel off this means they are not looking for whatever the trader is selling therefore putting it in local chat just makes people hate traders in general. My entire guild will not buy from people who use local chat to trade, if I don't want to buy stuff I should not have to sort out those messages from others that I'm trying to read.
I'm all for more implementation of auto moving trade to where it should be in trade.

I didn't realise they had done this because I don't buy/sell that often. When I do want to buy something I usually look in trade anyway.
BTW can anyone link me to update notes please.
