Hi all,
After having done numerous missions with people in PUG's P.O.'ed at me for calling targets, due to mostly running with henchies, I am proposing that in a PUG, that everyone decide on a target 'caller' that everyone will follow during missions BEFORE the misson starts. If this disables target calling for everyone else 'so be it'. I, personally, didn't mean to call out targets, just a force of habit after running with henchies that are as dumb as a bag of rocks, and you have to tell them everything......

if you cant come to a reasonable agreement on who's calling targets, then i don't hold much hope for you pug in the first place. last of your worries i should think.

also i'm not exactly sure what the problem is. are you calling the wrong targets? are the people in your pugs unwilling to work as a team and attack your targets? or are you just spamming your target calling too much?

never had problems with this. I'm usually the caller, cuz nobody else does.

There should be more explicit teachings in the beginning of making a character on the importance calling and following calls though. People tend to ram C-space all the time, ignoring the type of enemy nearby.
When playing with my guild, kills are fast and nobody ever dies (almost). In a random PUG, 8 out of 10 times people don't follow calls and die a lot more.

By definition, you don't know the pick up players you party with. What if the caller don't know about the CTRL button and keep pressing C to call stupid targets?

I've been in plenty of PUGs where we designate a caller, get into the mission, and he calls out that he's attacking a warrior instead of the 2 monks that are healing away. So than what? He's stuck as our target caller for the rest of the mission The point of everyone being able to call targets is to correct the person who was designated target caller. If he says he's attacking the warrior, all it takes is a couple "I'm attacking Shiro'ken Monk" spams to get him straight. =/
