Original poster: a typical new player mistake. Maximum energy is irrelevant for most builds, it's the energy regen that matters. I did that too when I started playing. :P
This is also why energy storage is the weakest primary attribute in the game, and soul reaping is the strongest. (on their own, not considering the linked skils)

Sigh. This is the best PvE build (I've gotten Protector of Cantha with it, trust me. )
16 Death Magic
13 Soul Reaping
Rotting Flesh
Deathly Swarm
Blood of the Master
Aura of the Lich (high-corpse mission)/Flesh Golem (low-corpse mission)
Animate Bone Horror
Animate Bone Fiend
Well of Suffering
Ressurection Signet.

Wow, another person who realizes how retardedly broken rotting flesh is in PvE. That's a start.
Spiteful Spirit
Reckless Haste
Enfeeble
Desercrate Enchantments
Putrid Explosion
Rotting Flesh
Res Sig
(Cap Sig) <-- As I said, I only did PvE pretty much for capping, but there's about 20 useful skills you could put in here
16 Curse
11 Death
10 Soul Reaping.
Try this. If your warrior is not retarded* and you don't need minions to do the tanking, this build would do a lot more damage than 10 fiends plinking at a target. I didn't get protector of cantha with it, but I capped every elite with henches without deaths except on overpowered ele bosses.
*Lukas and Seaguard Eli pass the IQ test, most pug wammos don't. Be warned.
