Key drops this weekend

A total of 3 Luxon Key drops for me all weekend. I didn't see much of an increase in 'rare' items, mostly high req stuff with near (and not so near) perfect upgrades. Plenty of purple, some gold. I did get my next level of Treasure Hunter, though.
I was generally disappointed in this special weekend (again). After seeing the quality of drops I received I feel like it was another money sink attempt by ANet to control the economy. It is nice that they *try* to do these things for us, but they never seem to hit a homerun (at least in my opinion). I'd be interested in seeing how much plat was exchanged for keys this weekend.
Probably my best overall drop (sad to say) - a Sundering Broadsword of Enchanting - 20/19 Sundering, Enchanting 20%, but a high requirement 13 Sword. I liked my chances of at least getting a decent upgrade in the salvage. Those 19 iron ingots were added to my stack ...

well, it seems that on average people were having the same problems as me with the key drops, except for the solo farmers.
Im fairly sure that the key drop increase was localised to Cantha only, so the Tyrian and UW/FoW Increase in drops are just coincidental, unless it unintentionally effected Tyria.
I too spend alot of gold on keys for runs, this seemed to be the more profitable, and I did get some quite nice items
I think that what this does show is the REALLY low rate at which keys drop!..
I would kindly ask that ANET to consider keeping the increased drop rate (maybe increasing further) as a permenant thing!
I notice that most people hardly ever do the side quests, and only go out to explore for titles or skill capping, the excitment of finding a key and opening a chest certainly would make for more enjoyable game play.
Maybe in future chapters Keys could be offerd as part of missions rewards.
Well, all in all I would say I really enjoyed this weekend thanks ANET.

* Farmed keys for two hours by killing Vermin (the only easily-killed quantity mob I know of in Cantha), got perhaps 25 keys.
* Blew them all in Nahpui Quarter on chest runs.
* Got 25 worthless koi scepters and cockatrice staffs. Oh, and one purple non-max clouded maul. <sigh>
I made significantly more money off the scales from the vermin hides, and I didn't get what I was looking for: a max clouded maul.
Keys are are a rare drop for a REASON, people: they're a gold sink.
But yeah, it was fun. I'd actually never done a chest run before.

i got a total of 2 keys dropped ( the Kryta key don't count ) And I was playing all weekend.
But i noticed it happend after I bought a whole mess keys. Thing is after I got a max damage 15 % in stance 20/20 sundering sword and a couple good runes on Saturday, I was sort of hooked.
( everytime I try to save money they pull some special event and I get broke all over again )
