FoW is worth so much...because the game demands expensive materials.

FoW means nothing. Get 1.5K and be happy that you can buy other stuff instead.

IF you want the look of FoW armor, sure - go for it. If you prefer the look of a different armor that has the stats your looking for, then FoW isn't worth it.

I would advise you to this first:

Play all professions in PvE and PvP.
Deck out all your chars in good (collector and crafter and maybe greens) equipment as well as some decent armour. 1.5k is ok but 15k is nice as a way to say "this char is ok now".

1.5mil probably won't be enough money to do all that... Just think about it.

You'll need money for the base price of the 1.5k armours+money for the materials. Then you'll need money to craft yourself some weapons. If you're building up a warrior then you'll need money for upgrades, same for staff-wielding casters. You'll need to bring all those chars through the game so you may want to pay runners.
1.5mil is gone pretty fast imo.

And I only talked about equipment... you'll have to buy the majority of your skills remember?

"Is it worth it?" is a question that only you can answer. FoW armor is only for looks, so if you think it looks good enough to warrent the cost, then go for it. If you dont' like the looks and are just buying it for "status", then you would just be wasting your money.

I LOVE my female Ele FoW armor, and I didn't like any of the Prophecies 1.5k or 15k Elementalist armors. But I wouldn't buy it for any of my other characters as I dont like the other profession's FoW armor.

Now if I could just find a way to switch the stats from hydro to tempest...

There are two main problems I have with FoW:
1) 95% of players don't know what FoW armor looks like
2) 4.9% of players look down on you for it because they think that "you're -ONLY- good at farming and don't know how to PvP

The other .1% of players give you the appreciation you deserve, even if it is shortlived.
But I love my FoW for my Ele and don't regret it.

I love my Ranger FoW armour (Pictured left). Yes, it is damm expensive and isnt anything to get for your character lightly. It took me months, to get the materials and gold up together and it made me broke at the end of it. Was it worth it? Hell yes! I would not change it for anything.

Now would i do it for my other characters? Probably not. Mind you, I only have one other main character, so anything may be possible.

Incidently, a lot of warriors actually only go for the FoW Helm. Maybe try that first and take it from there.

I don't have FoW armor nor am i planning to make 1 for my rt, its not anything special other than it is much expensive with a different arts. The Armor art for Ritualist is crap, imo. I like the 15k kurzick rt armor more. Warrior armor looks okay but i think the 15k kurzick armor is cooler. it cost way too much with not so good art.

I didnt use search as i know where are they located at.

At main page of Guild Wiki, click Armor in the big green box, then at the top, there isa box with 3 column, under By art or by status, the link to Obsidian Armor is the FoW armor, click on it, and you can see pic for every class. click on the pic to see a enlarge pic. Or click on the Sex above the pic to see more information on said armor.

If I were you, I would buy some 15k armor, and save the rest for a rainy day

It's always nice to have some money in storage incase you ever need anything

I agree to you.

15k Armor might be a bit common at times; but yeah many people don't even know or even notice and appreciate your hard earned FoW armor for more than 5 seconds... But if it what makes you happy and proud of yourself, then go for it

For me, you should only buy fow if you ahve everything else you need. By this i mean All the armor, weapons, and shields you need. Assuming you want to get it for your warrior, make sure u have all the weapons that youll want before you blow all your money on fow armor. Nothing is funnier that seeing a warrior in full fow using a collector weapons, who sees a nice chaos axe and go "thats so awesome!" One more thing, get 300-400k more than youll need for fow, so you have some change sittin around after u invest. I do love my fow, nothing is better than someone running up to you and going "your armor rocks"

Don't get it if you aren't 100% sure you want it. On my warrior I have a set of 15k Gladiator armour but I wanted 15k kurzick as well. So I bought it and I never wear it, and I was doubting whether or not I wanted it in the first place. Now everytime I play my warrior I have to kick myself for wasting that 200k.

only buy it if you think it looks totally badass and you know you'll never regret it.
NEVER get FoW just for the sake of getting it; that is a massive waste of money.

money will come and go, and if you don't spend it on armour, you'll spend it on something else. so if FoW armour is what you want, get it. besides, it's not like you're digging into your rent or food money to buy FoW armour, unless you get the funds and materials for it through non-legitimate means, of course.

Bacon's right, yet i prefer to buy 15k armour and spend the rest on rare skinned weapons/other chars equipment etc etc. Warrior FOW armour is ugly as sin and makes you look fat

dont really agree with you :/

i almost finished my monk fow, and spend alot of work and time with getting the money for it, now when i finished with my monk i may start my fow warrior, but i just use my war for fow cave farming - using 15%stance crafted weapon

and hell why paying 100k+x/xx/xxx ectos for another weapon? thats money waste imho

then why waste 1mil+ on FoW armour when 1.5k armour does the same job?

Its entirely up to yourself what you do with the cash and if you have any doubt in your mind about it, consider carefully what else you could do with your masses of cash. You'll probably come to the conclusion that there isn't much else to do with the gold except buy high-end weapons. Not much more to say escept, if you aren't feelin' it, don't risk all that cash.

can you afford to buy nice weapons / 1.5k / 15k armor after buying the fow armor? if you carnt i suggest you wait as being broke isnt fun especially when you want stuff.

if you arnt sure you like it then dont get it. only buy it if you really want it or enjoy playing warrior. if you like say 15k kurzicks a little less than fow armor you may want to consider getting that instead as its alot cheaper.

Do me a favor.

Ask yourself WHY you want the armor.

If you can live with the justification you think up, go for it.

Me, personally? Hey, screw what other people think; if I want to look flash for the sake of looking flash, then damn it, me and Adam Ant are gonna be singin' Stand and Deliver baby.

I agree, really depends on you. If you like it and have the cash for it, go ahead. I was actually saving up for a set for my War, but then fell in love with the 15K Kurzick. Bought that instead and saved me some cash.

Sshhh, It's a secret :o

i say just as long as you're 100% sure you want it, go get it. and it seems that you're convinced that you want it, so go for it and gl

i love my monk and my necro's fow armor. even if i dont use my monk's fow as much anymore because i got the 15k kurz, i still wear it. and im starting to wear it more again.

i was planning on getting my rit her fow armor too but i wasnt 100% sure about it. when they announced nightfall coming, i decided im just gonna wait and see if the derv or parry FoW is going to attract my attention more than the rit fow did. if its not then im getting my rit the fow. if it is, then at least i didnt get my rit the fow armor yet and it would have saved me the trouble of farming for materials for my derv or parry fow. so for now, i have the ectos and shards sitting and waiting in my storage

i spend way more than 1,5 mill on my FoW back in the days when i got it, and i haven't regret it. I'm never realy short of money, and i simply love the looks of it (pooling some spare ecto together now to get new boots and the new obsidian stoneskin gauntlets).

If you realy like the look, and you have the money to buy it, you should. In general, once you have cash, it's not that hard to make some more cash
