Weapon mod merchant and decustomize option
Anduin
We definitely need a merchant for weapon mods. I've been trying to sell a perfect fortitude mod for an axe and a perfect sundering bow string for weeks, but no one ever seems to want it. I'd love to be able to just go to a merchant and dump it like I do with runes. Quicker and easier solution for those of us who'd rather spend our time playing than trying to barter with people (trading is my most hated part of this game, and every other rpg. I just do not like it at all, and always end up getting ripped off).
Also, a decustomize option for customized weapons we no longer use would also be great, which is why I imagine this has been asked repeatedly.

The weapon mod trader would be really helpful. I've got a guildie whos been trying to find an imperfect vamp axe haft to pair with his 15%/-1 hp regen axe for over a month now (he doesn't want to pay full price when hes only after the degen). Its just to hard to find the near perfect mods, which are good enough if you don't want to pay full price for the perfect ones.
The only problem I can see with the weapon mod trader is it getting cluttered up. The easy solution to that is to have a seperate trader for each weapon type.
As for decustomisation, you chose to customise it knowing you wouldn't be able to un-customise. Learn to live with the choices you made.

I don't understand the problem with wanting to decustomize something. What if a noob customizes something not knowing it can't be uncustomized, or trades for a customized weapon?
It is just plain idiotic not to be able to.

you customize something knowing that u are tied to that weapon forever. And a new player wouldnt trade for a customized weapon cause a lil alert comes up before u trade about the weapon.

think about the words, customize. It's like wearing used running shoes, it just doesn't fit. Now however if it was more like DnD where u would have an armor check roll for whenu didn't meet requirements. That would be cool. Like Using a custumized weapon for another character at a -10% damage. since custumizing it would make u simply better with the weapon, why not the reverse?
Another merchant is a ok idea, it could manage the economy i a bit better, and some n00bs would be less riped off. However i don't see it as needed. Not every item is perfect, it bad enough only perfect items are the only ones sellable, and every item will quickly become perfect and trading would be only for base items and such. Maybe im paranoid, but i like the ecomony the way it is.

Hmm... If I was going to get rid of any particular character, I think i wuold like to be able to decustomize this particular green and sell it rather than let it go to waste.

The de-customization is one of the noobiest suggestions I ever heard, no offence. The whole point of customization is to make the weapon more powerful in your hands, at the exchange of not being able to sell it. Otherwise, why not just make all weapons with +20% damage?
This is truly, in my opinion, a suggestion made by people who want to have the most powerful weapons, and be able to sell them high as well.

/signed x10000000 for a weapons mod trader. I've been wanting one for a LOOOONG time now.
/notsigned for decustomization. Yes, i've been dumb with customization, most people have. I still say that it shouldn't be something that can be undone.

I totaly agree with a weapon mod merchant, it would put a handle on the price of weapons and mods, and even the playing field weapon wise, right now weapons are the most significant advantage players can gain in PvP, it should be remedied.
Customizing is an obvious option to improve a weapons damage wile making it unusable to others, if it could be taken off and used by others, than it may as well not have a customization and have that much extra power reguardless. If it is a weapon you can't afford to keep, or intend to sell eventually, you can't customize it, plain and simple trade-off.

Decustomization, if implemented, should cost 100 platinum, not a hair less. Even then, that might be charging too little.

I don't get it, are you opposed to the decustomization cause then you could do it to a green, and later undo and sell it, or cause you think the 20% would still be there?
Would you sign if the 20% came back off when it was decustomized?

If customization weren't permanent it would be entirely pointless.

as far as i know, the only reason you can customize any weapon is because when creating a PvP char, the weapons come perfect, for free. thus customizing them makes it so you cant savlage/trade mods or even trade the whole perfect weapon. thats the simple truth.
the PvE have a customize option to compete fairley with PvP. why would any pve want to customize a weapon? no reason at all, thus the +20dmg comes into play, it makes customizing the weapon something to look at when you want to be on equal footing with pvp.
i know all pvp weapons come +20dmg always, this is due to customizing. Also, a side note. any fully equipped pve char will out preform pvp. pvp dosnt get armor swaps :P
