Howdy ^_^

No name (except mine) will be told to preserve
minor identity.

My character : Lvl 20 Mo/Me
Build : Boon Protect

My GF character : Lvl 20 E/A
Build : Fire Nuker

Vizunah Square (Local Quarter) ... 8h20 PM

I'm not in mood to PUG, trying to enter a group
with me and my GF... OMG everybodies are looking
for group... *sigh*

Vizunah Square (Local Quarter) ... 8h30 PM

Decided to make my group, started to PUG
lvl > 15. Got 2 MM, tanks, assassins and a lot
of <=15 requests... but can't find another
monk.

Vizunah Square (Local Quarter) ... 8h40 PM

Change district, try to pug a monk.

Vizunah Square (Local Quarter) ... 8h45 PM

Found a Monk! Yay! Joy! Hourray! He said he can't
heal very good. I asked which build he was more
comfortable with. No response from him but he
was trying to flirt with my GF via whisper. Plz
stop whispering my GF and tell me which build you
are more confortable with. No response. Others
urge me to start the mission. I said I won't start the
mission until i'm sure me and other monk didn't have
the same build. He said he would take healing.
KK let's start the mission.

Vizunah Square (Local Quarter) ... 8h50 PM

Mission started, other monk is naked and doing some
stupids joke. Plz he seems to require considerable
amount of healing from me. Dress up M. Monk plz.
Then he called his HP... 55... he was using his 55
build in mission and died right away. Allied team
is henchs... Monk died... Monk died... Monk died...
Don't waste Rez on him plz...

Vizunah Square (Local Quarter) ... 9h00 PM

Mhenlo died ARGH! Kicked that monk that was trying
to make fun of us. Monk are hards to pug but
somes really like to ruin the mission.

Vizunah Square (Local Quarter) ... 9h05 PM

GLF Monk 7/8

Vizunah Square (Local Quarter) ... 9h10 PM

GLF Monk, MM 6/8

Vizunah Square (Local Quarter) ... 9h15 PM

GLF Monk, MM, tanks 5/8(people are not very patient
lately )

Vizunah Square (Local Quarter) ... 9h20 PM

Team is almost complete, nobody want Sister
Tai so I must try to find a monk again... again..

Vizunah Square (Local Quarter) ... 9h25 PM

OMG my precious... a monk! healing monk!
Yay! Hourray! Joy! Just before we start, he
said "Sry must leave cya"... why? Just to
make fun of people trying to PUG??

Vizunah Square (Local Quarter) ... 9h30 PM

OMG my precious... another monk! healing monk!
Semi-Yay! Semi-Hourray! Semi-Joy!
Waiting for monk to be ready. Ready?
Who's not ready? KK, lets go!

Vizunah Square (Local Quarter) ... 9h32 PM

Monk leave with no reason!!! ARGH!!! Other
team is all henchs! Must keep the healing
with Boon protect monk.

Vizunah Square (Local Quarter) ... 9h40 PM

God bless MMs!

Vizunah Square (Local Quarter) ... 9h50 PM

God Bless good MMs!

Vizunah Square (Local Quarter) ... ~10h00 PM

God bless awesome MMs! Got Expert rank in
mission.

Yesterday was a PUG nightmare. Pugging isn't the
funniest things to do. But plz don't make fun
of 7 other person who want to play the game
for your own personal evil interest. Your times
is wasted as theirs.

If you want to make fun of something without
hurting anyone... well... take a hench team
and leave them mid-mission. You'll get a hell
of a laugh.

Thats all I had to say... short isn't?

Seeing as I've Mastered this mission twice with a warrior and an all hench team (yes, including the other team), I can only say that if you cant find a second monk... Bring hench?

The griefer monk you encountered was an A-hole though, no argument there. I'll never understand that kind of people.

I like my monk. In fact, monk is the class that suits me
best. It sadden me when some peeps lower monk class
integrity (omg the drama :P).

If we died the first time its because a MM died having
an army of Minions (can a MM kill himself with an
army of undead?).
And god does minions like Mhenlo flesh taste.

Else I would have keeped up with my Boon Protect Monk.

That's cool you did it with all hench. That's something I would've tried but I was kinda under the impression that going that route wasn't good. heh.

Anyroad I was avoiding the Vizunah Square mission because I avoid PUG's most of the time and didn't feel like doing the Vizunah PUG fest. So this weekend I just went for it as I wanted to get my warrior past this mission. There was a assassin putting a team together so I joined him. Twas a bit hard for him to fill out the party as many players who joined quickly left. I guess it was because he was an assasin and we had no monks? heh. We ended up with 3 assassins in the party and one was a A/Mo and we had to take the hench monk as no others were interested in joining. At the start of the mission the leader got an err=7 and I was thinking that we would all end up getting killed or others would start leaving. However the whole team (minus 1 player) got moving and soon the Nec had a crapload of minions happening and we mowed through all the afflicted and finished Vizunah. I was just glad to get the hell out of there and on to other stuff. I don't care for forced team dealies. Now I have to do it with my assassin sometime. Heh.

yukimura_gw that's a drag you had that stripper monk in your PUG. Meh. Too bad you couldn't kick his armor around the map.

I wish there was a way to look at a window in-game and see the various teams that were forming for a mission and then if there was a free slot for a tank (or whatever) in a team that looked good to you, then you just stick your name in the slot and hit a check box. Maybe that wouldn't work.... just a random thought.

In World of Warcraft, you can join a team in a mission when a member
left the team. Also, leader can kick someone out of the mission if
he is totally incompetent. But you can't see in-game.

Thats was the best part of WoW for me. Too much walking/travelling
in it.

Would be fun to have /votekick and /voteaddin in teams.
Ahhh... so much dreaming...

I've spent literally 5 hours putting one group together for UW. 5 Hours, probably getting 1-2 people in our group per hour and noone leaving until we finally went in.

I hope you kept their name. Mature people are hard to find these
days (see below).

I just hoped it worthed it to put in trouble and waste the times
of 7 other persons.

Pugging is hard and sometime an art (some are great at pugging).
I just think you have no respect to the one that respected
you in taking you into his team.

You are the kind of player that make mature players more
appreciated.

its just PUGging.. O_o

I don't go around and grief PUGs intentionally, but if I have irl issues I will simply afk or leave in the middle of the mission. I don't really care about people I don't know.

If I was with friends that would be a different story, but I draw the line at certain considerations depending on who I'm with.

Real life issues are more important than PUG, true (obvious)
"BRB or Sry must leave because [reason]" is most
appreciated.

This topic is about people who intentionally leave just
because it gives them personal pleasure (don't think
pervert... i hope... yukimura=french so sometime lots
of typing errors and wrong sentences).

As for people I don't know, I will still respect them. Any
stranger can be a true friend in hiding... (or worse )

I hate people who quit during mission or quest. hate them even worst when they leave or afk without inform the team and give appology.
if someone don't have the time for Co-op Mission, DON"T DO IT. consider if someone do the same to you when you are about to win a master then the player leave you and screw the game. will you be pissed ?

People always think "why can they do this but I can't ?" so they go ahead and become a jerk themself. or simply think it is fun to left in the middle of game to pissed people off. It is totally selfish. GW is a group game, respect your teamate is important to keep people in the game so you can get group that are really helpful. if all a person want is the screw up other people, why not go join TV show ( those that make fun of people and annoy the other) and you can even make some bucks of it and be famous ?

i don't mind people leaving the group, but i get annoyed by people who quit and just give up because a monk dropped, or an ele d/c'd or because some pug just doesn't play the way that person would like to play. I play the game for it's challenges, but some people just seem too lazy to even try. All they are there for are the drops, and sometimes they'll quit just because they didn't get some loot.

but wow, 5 hours to put together a uw group =) i'm lucky if i get to play 5 hours total during the work week. generally i average 2-3 uw groups per hour, just because some are so bad, but every so often you get a good one heh

these days i just join whatever random, hapazardly tossed together group. it's great that i can just load up, have some quick fun, and log out

off topic--sorry but since you mentioned it--Why do people play UW so much? I tried it a few times with Allies. It wasdifferent, but I didn't get any better value drops than I'd get in any other hard-to-play (for lack of a better word) area. Ok i got a max Shadowblade and Shadow bow but they dont work any better than my other weapons.

Because UW is an easy and accessible place to go. Plus perfect
Eternal shield or storm Bow gives a boost on money racking. Also you
can get Ectos , Ruby or shards drop.

Shadow Blade and Bow... they drop in UW lately? (Didn't
played for 3 months ans they were dropping in FoW
when I was playing before).

Did the monk actually confirm he was ready?

As a smiting monk I was lately asked to go healing. I said np, give me a sec to reskill and opened Inventory for weapon, Hero screen for attributes and the Skill window. Must have concealed the chat, because after redistributing, while selecting skills, I get a loadscreen and mission starts. Ah well, three warriors in the group, enough said.

If this happens you can see me quit without a word as well. Let the impatient SOBs figure it out themselves.
Went smiting again and did it with henchies.

I've PUGged every mission in the game at some point (maybe I'm a glutton for punishment)

What annoys me most is leechers, and people who join long missions like The Deep only to say (10 minutes in) "how much longer? I have to have dinner in 5 minutes"
Dont join a mission if you know your leaving soon. Jeez!

I have both my monks at Viz Sq. One is Factions lvl20 and other is Prophecies lvl20.

Reason theyre still there is that I am concerned that if I try to do the mission with PUG's Im gonna getslated for being a crap monk. Done the mission with my Ra, Wa and Rit as well as helped others a number of times and I know the slagging off a bad monk gets.

I havent played a healing monk enough and havent played a monk for so long that I've pretty much forgotten what to do when and to who lol.

You can be sure that I ask everyone if ready or not. The monk
did confirmed he was ready. Some people sometime rage quit
my pug team because I want everybody to say they are ready.

And I said "Ready? Who's not ready? KK let's go!"

At "Ready?" I asked who's ready and waited and confirmed
everyone was ready.

At "Who's not ready?" I say that because some people
realize at last minute they did a mistake in their skills
and I usually wait 15-30 seconds at this phase.

At "KK, let's go" ill wait 5 sec before clicking
"Start Mission" to be sure because some will
say wait there.

So after that if he wasn't ready, you can't really
blame it on me.

In a fit of boredom, I bought a character slot and made an assassin. I mean, I'm a good player, so I thought I'd make one of those "assassins are really good if the player knows what they're doing!" that we hear so much about.

...Cue the usual problems finding groups. Plus of course there's the classic problem that I know I'm a good assassin (turns out I am, heh! ) but there's no way short of a Defender of Cantha title that I can convince everyone else of that. So I developed two tactics to compensate:

The first one is for those occasions where there's genuinely a lot of groups being formed, in wich situation it's about drawing attention and impressing. The former can be achieved via non sequiturs - my usual opening line is "'sin with excellent table manners looking for a group!", followed by "'sin LFG who actually puts the *apostrophe* at the start of "'sin"! Great value!" The latter is a little harder. The easiest way to show off is to answer any novice questions in general chat in your best friendly grizzled veteran tone, but you may need to start up a conversation on tactics. Try to sound well-informed and impersonal - whatever you do, don't start talking about how underappreciated Assassins are, you'll just sound desperate!

The second one is for when I'm getting frustrated at the rooms byzantine GLF requests (I've gotta start keeping track of some of the wierder ones!). It's not unusual for half a dozen 'sins to be in there with me in the same boat, which helps. I post the following:

"Starting a henchway. Anyone who wants to come along and scrub it up with me and Sister Tai is welcome to join!"

...I usually end up with 3-4 (human) player teams, which is enough to make the experience social. It helps that I'm a good player (you're going to have to take my word for this ) and can generally carry a team through a mission. It's more laid back than your average PuG, and even when you're saddled with absolute imbeciles there's a kind of sick fun in having to work for two and maintain a friendly demeanour.

My favourite experience so far has been showing a competent ranger, two healbots and four Leeroys how to manage aggro through the "back way" in the Gyala Hatchery mission. Like herding puppies; it was really quite enjoyable as long as I controlled my temper.

Hrm... Guild Wars = Adult Friend Finder?
Erm. No thanks.
However I have encountered a few of these people with my female characters before(I myself being a male)... lets just say I have had great fun ruining their innocent minds

Little Tip for you Yuki:
I usually wait a maximum of 10 minutes for a PUG. I will not filll a party with everything I can possibly get(some players do this and fill the whole team with warriors). About half of the time I am lacking monks so I will take a healer henchman and a spirit henchman.

Note: Henchman are computer based AI. They probably have a lot better reflexes than most players do. That makes them ideal for healing.

As for advice to getting through a game with just yourself and your GF... I usually go out helping guildies by myself and with henchies. I use one of two tactics.

Lazy Monk Henchway
This has made my monk skills poor but it works wonderfully. Lead a hench team with your monk. Bring healer henchy, spirit henchy and heal party. All you have to do during the mission is keep hitting stuff with your wand (this directs the henchies who will follow what you attack) and occasionally patch up everyone's HP with Heal Party. Sometimes slow, but it works.

Minion Wrath
Play a Death Necromancer and a standard hench team. Make loads of minions. Usually as you are the first person to wand enemies the minions will go in before the henchies and tank most of the damage. Just dont forget to keep making minions.

I really support the idea of posting names of griefers such as the monk you encountered, with proof of his/her actions ofcourse.

Aye,when you get that question you know whats going to happen.

If youre girlfriend says shes a real girl tell her to lie and claim to be male.

Unless she likes cyb0r that is...
