The system should warn someone when the other one is offering LESS THAN 1000 GOLD (1 plat).

Hehe what do you think? That would prevent people from ectos for gold (not plat) scamming and other scams like that.

We can do another thing:

you have to double-accept a trade if someone closes and opens a trade window again within X seconds.

there is already a protection for when the trade is modified.

That does not help if the person closes the trade window over and over again and then changes the trade.

@ awlove thats not the topic. most ppl try to scam you at first time of trade. when he offers only 70gold instead of 70plat for your 10 ectos.... there would be an info.

you have to double-accept a trade if someone opens a trade window again within X seconds.

This is a rpg. I think if you put cops on every street corner that inhibits the abilty for it to be an rpg. I think Anet has the responsibility to prevent hacks and cheats but I think if someone is too much in a hurry to see what they are actually accepting then they lose out and they learn a lesson. I am not a scammer and don't like it when people scam the newbies but I sort of defend their right to try. (if that makes any sense)

I was a checker at a grocery once a long time ago, and there was no auto scam protection. If someone started doing funky stuff with the cash you stopped the transaction and started fresh. Or called in a manager (ie din't deal with that person)

Ah, but a scammer could offer 1 plat less than selling price, then mod trade to gold instead of plat, you might not notice. It is a good easily integrated idea, not totally necissary. Though it should help many people from being scammed, and will remove unnecissary risk.

Ok, first of all, name ONE REASON, JUST ONE, how this wuold inhibit a player's ability to play the game. This isn't the case AT ALL. If someone was scammed they would learn a lesson this is true enough, but we would rather not see them scammed in the first place.

Well, if you were a checker at a grocery store, I bet you would have preferred scam protection. People DONT ALWAYS NOTICE CHANGES in the offers made in trades like you did. This update will make the game better for everyone trying to sell something valuable. It's a Double Edged Sword, it strikes a blow to scammers and at the same time makes buying and trading more secure.

OR, people could, you know, READ what's in the trade window instead of being ignorant morons...Ignorrance is no excuse to add yet ANOTHER worthless update to the game for...

Lol, this is funny, being in a hurry isn't any where NEAR being ignorant morons. Calling people ignorant and then not being able to spell Ignorance is sure to make you sound like a total genius, actaully give worthwhile posts instead of this crap...

I think what I am trying to say (I'll admit I'm a bit sleep deprived) is that people have a right to roleplay being the crook. They have a right to try and buy commendations for less than their value. They have a right to try to sell crap for huge sums. They have a right to try and offer you 5g instead of 5k and if you are in too much of a hurry to notice then it's your own fault and just be thankful you only lost virtual money. They don't have a right to code a program to hack your account or steal what you put in the trade window etc.

Oh, gee, I hit the r key one too many times, I guess that makes me mentally challenged then...

Seriously, if people can't take the time to read what's in the trade window, they deserve to be scammed.
