I would like to have this cleared up once and for all; is it possible to get Tyrians into Vizunah Local and Canthans into Vizunah Foreign? I thought I heard of a trick in another topic, but I can't remember it.

Complete Vizunah. Once you've done that, you should be able to get into the other Vizunah outpost freely...

This place is weird,up until yesterday my guildies and i have not been able to get on the Locals side even with canthan characters,we always ended up on the Foreign side.Experiencing this i have no idea how you get in one side or the other, you would think tyrians always go foreign and canthans always locals, but they dont :|

There was a long post around here somewhere where many posters, including me, had difficulties in getting to Vizunah Local with Tyrian characters, even after completing the whole game. Yet there was some trickery that allowed some to do that, but I don't remember the details on how to do it.
So as the saying goes: "Use the search."

I thought if you were with a group that traveled there you went in with them. So a Tyrian can enter Local if entering with Canthans.

Never tried it though, why is it important?

On my Tyrian Ele I joined a group doing the last part of the Mayhem quest and got in local. At the time he had completed all of the missions.

When I tried with my ranger it didn't work, though he hadn't completed all missions yet.

Same here, my Tyrian warrior got into local by joining a Mayhem group
after he'd done the foreign mission. But none of my other Tyrian characters
have been able to do it.

They are two completely separate outposts. It's not like you go to Vizunah Square and the game determines whether to put you in Local or Foreign. Check out a map that has both opened up and you will see.

There is a way.. For Tyrian characters.. lead a group for the quest mayhem in the market. And for the glitch to work.. you must be the leader. This will put you in the cutscene.. and thus into the local town. And the same.. vice a versa with Canthan char to get into Foreign.

I just completed the Grandmaster Cartographer on my Canthan and I remember getting into the Foreign quarter being as simple as walking through the open portal. Of course, I had completed the game already, and I think that makes a difference.

I was hoping this was the final answer.... but it's not. There's still
something more involved.
I tried it with my Tyrian elementalist who's completed both games
and he still can't get into local quarter.

Wait, I spoke too soon... he didn't do the Shing Jea Island missions
yet. I'll get back to you.

Nope... didn't work for me on to local quarter side. Finished all
13 Canthan missions with my Tyrian and still can't get in.
