Over the weekend I finally completed the ring if fire. Completing all missions and bonuses. Although everyone else got gold and purple drops I got allocated blue ones which were poor.

Thinking about it I very rarely get a great drop for my ele.

This happened to anyone else?

This weekend event only applies to Cantha. You Tyrian guys are screwed over!

Keep in mind that the only items you can hope to sell now for decent amounts are gold items with perfect or very close to perfect desired mods. Just because someone got a gold doesn't really mean squat except the merchant will probably pay 50 gold more. Yay.

Getting a marketable item is a very rare event in Guild Wars, even though the idiots in LA district 1 would disagree. No, no one wants a 18% hexed req. 13 Ebon Warpick of Shelter, not even those who might give you "n00b offers".

Anyways, hope that makes you feel better, as gold isn't necessarily any good.

So? It's not hurting me in any way.

Oh no, my drop rates are the same as normal, it hurts!

Nope, but for morons like jm_jazzy who wasted his time thinking he might get lucky during this weekend, yup he's screwed.

He didn't really get screwed over. Nothing dropped for him, that's all. That hardly hurts anyone at all.

If you actually read Jm_jazzy's post, it doesn't look like he was trying to farm RoF, just play and complete the game.
Reading comprehension FTW!

=/ It's true.

Nothing good dropped for Jm_Jazzy during the mission, and he was dissapointed because it was the last mission of the game. I'm guessing that's the point of this whole thread, but I've been beating it to death with off-topic posts.

How does that foot taste? Useless flames FTL.

To the OP: Yes, that happens to LOTS and LOTS of people. Read the forums for a while and you'll see a pattern of "They got XXX and I didn't get anything" threads. It happens.

It's called random drops. Some day you'll get a load of good drops and nobody else in the group will get any. Then those people will probably create one of these threads to complain about it.

Back when GW was first released, good drops simply rained from the sky. I got most of my good stuff during that period. Then came the exploitation by the professional farmers with their BOTS who mined GW to resell items and gold. The amateurs joined in.

There followed "the great war with the farmers." Finally, the problem was solved when good drops were made so rare that farming was hardly worth it. This is why, now, you can go out and depopulate a map in GW, and in Factions, and not get much worthwhile. For the adventure side of the game this is a shame. But all online games have the same problem these days, it is not just GW and Factions that have had to nerf general adventure map drops.

For those of us who love PvE, this is a great loss.

its freakin stupid how a weapon with a normal skin and good mods can go for insane prices... thats just stupid.

There are rare skins though, and they do fetch extra money. Crystallines, Tribal Axes etc. can be worth millions with the right mods.

Thanks guys for the support and as for those flaming I was not farming nor 'expecting' something.

Just thought given they were the last missions that I would get something a little better than usual given I did all of them. I usually don't sell any of the good drops but keep them for my characters and/or trade with guild members. Not point in selling stuff to other players as the game is for fun.

After I posted I started Sorrows Furnace and lo behold a green weapon. "The Yakslapper".

I don't think i got 'screwed' nor is it a not fair post. Just wondering if it happens often in an entire group of missions with bonuses. Seemed a little unusual given the number of missions.

Doomlord yes it does make me feel better. And thanks Opeth yes some people do miss the point. BTW I met a farmer the other day who 'showed' me how it all worked - why bother when it is no longer fun.

Bye for now.
