Is Factions free if you have guild wars?

I haven't played in about 9 months and when I logged on yesterday, it downloaded about 5,000 files. I also noticed that I can have 4 characters and my title screen says Factions. So, I was wondering if Factions was free if you already had Guild Wars, or is that a totally separate purchase and game?

No, each chapter is a stand alone add-on and must be purchased.

Regardless of what the login screen says, you still have to buy the new chapters in order to play them.
