Tried to beat this mission now... like 15-20 times. Every team fails. they either quit or just die.
One monk.. two monks. It does not matter. Im getting grey hair about it... I just want to move on to the next area.
I tried looking it up on wiki(for tips) but nothing has worked, and people really don't seem to listen. "guys maybe we should wait with phoenix. Wiki says his mesmer de-generating spells hit hardest". "lol n00b" Is always the response you get from some cocky assassin/monk:/
does anyone have any really good advices on how to beat this mission?

Don't get in a group that is doing masters. Beat it slow and relaxed the first time, I still say start with the Monk boss first, unless you have an ss. Or just take henchies. It really isn't that hard if you aren't trying to rush through it for masters. Be sure to know what your target priority is. Those turtles are a pain in the butt because the use grenth's balance unless you spike them at the very end of their health bar.
The sentinels are annoying because of the evasion stance they go into. Once you get the ele boss out of the way, the dragon essences should be your primary focus. then the necros.
If you are sure you know that going to the phoenix last is the right way, then start a group yourself, and when before the team goes, tell them you are going through the far left portal first. If anyone objects and can't be convinced that the smiting monk essences aren't that big a deal to have around the whole time, then boot them and get someone else. Show leadership and resolve.

If you're having a lot of trouble with people quitting....don't use people! Henchies are there for a reason - and they're not as bad as you'd think. Good henchie management is the key. One possible way of doing the mission is to kill everything first EXCEPT the bosses, and go back to kill them later - you probably wont get masters, but it would get you through. This doesn't work too well with henchies though since they automatically seem to go for the boss anyway!
If you need help from someone who doesn't quit out of games - unless they get an error code=007, then contact me in game, IGN: Hitomi Kyoko.

Thanks for the advice guys. Can't belive I was actually able to freakin beat it with nothing but henchmen:/
I did as you said, and took out all the stars, and then left all the 4 bosses for last. Good tactic

Henchies FTW!

^Damn Right!!!
I've found that the henchmen are actually more intelligent than some human players

Every time I've used henchmen, and I've never lost this mission!
Like the other posters have said, henchmen are patient and you can take your time chipping away at the limited number of mobs. The biggest killer is rushing around and getting needlessly overwhelmed.
I've killed the 4 bosses in different orders... the nastiest essense fragments are the turtle ones I think, although I've never left him until last before
The turtles have great lifestealing ability and Well of Weariness to suppress energy. The ele fragments weaken your fighters and cause knockdowns, but are just an annoyance than anything really serious... same with the mesmers, although they have good pressure damage (which I countered with Well of Blood on my necro, Healing Spring with my ranger, Weapon of Resilience on my Ritualist, Hex Breaker + Shatter Hex on my mesmer... stuff I learned to cope with well before this mission). The Kirin monks have Zealot's Fire and Reversal of Fortune (Balth's Aura too? I forget...), but were never much of a threat.
The main thing is to get easily managable pulls, 4-5 mobs or so, and be sure you are recovered enough to pull the next lot. You won't get Master's like that, but you'll win

Hee hee - Anet should host a competition whereby you get a one-person mission where your standard wammo has to race to complete the short mission against Talon and/or Devona - could be hilarious!
xiaotsu
Talon would totally win that, he's a freaking beast O_O

Keep things on topic please, or I'll have to edit out your posts
Thanks.

does anyone have any really good advices on how to beat this mission? try to get 1 prot and 1 heal, it's better than 2 heals. Also try to find masters groups they are better than regular pugs

Lol...a master's group IS a regular PUG, they just have a goal other than to complete the mission...every master's group I've been with was quite pathetic...ragequit just because they figured we'd miss master's by a few seconds...I still haven't gotten master's :| Always miss it by a minute or 2 with henchies
No guild either, so that's not an option.

Hrm. I've said it before, Ill say it again.
Playing with PuG or Guildies: Purely if you want to have fun or a good laugh.

i would have to say that Tanaki, Naphui, and Arborstone are the worst missions to get a group for... but at least with arborstone you have a good chance of getting Master's without really trying for it.
Id say just get the mission done, and when you really want to finish out your title, come back to it then... its very very hard to get Masters on that mission it seems.... im always a minute shy, too...

If you go all henchies then take the 2 healers (Jamei and Sister Tai) plus the Spirit hench Chiyo, who uses some healing stuffs as well, which I found to be a help. I've done the mission twice with all hench and had no problems. Took the far left portal first (can't remember which one that is for) and found it easier than going the other ways from the start.
Dark Dragon
I did masters for this a few days ago.
4 assassins
2 Warriors
1 Mes
Healer Hench
This was a random pick up group, but we all knew what we were doing, and no one gave orders. It was great fun everthing dies very quickly.
Masters groups only work if everyone knows what to do.
We did the mission about 3-4 mins to spare.

Just finished this mission last night with only henchies, I wasnt aiming for master, even went the wrong way in the beginning, but ended up like this:
Upon which I decided to hit my head against a brick wall for chatting for 5 seconds before attacking the last boss

Did this yesterday on my monk. I just got a PuG and everyone knew what to do and we got master's with 14 seconds left. The problem people have with PUGs is that they usually do not attack the same target...

I got tired of trying to get masters with my mesmer with pug groups for Nahpui. So I went with henchies.
I took Talon, Devona, Jamei, Sister Tai, Panaku, Emi, and Lo Sha. I specced myself to deliver warrior and ranger hate. Then I went to town. Got it done in about 22 minutes.
In disbelief, I tried it again. This time with my ranger. I turned her to a bunny thumper. This time, I took Talon, Jamei, Sister Tai, Panaku, Emi, Lo Sha, and Kai Ying. Got it done in about 23 minutes.
Still doubtful about it, I did it again with my warrior. She specced up an axe to just go all out beat the tar out of things. Didn't even bring a healing signet. Took Devona, Jamei, Sister Tai, Panaku, Emi, Lo Sha, and Kai Ying. Again, got it done in about 23 minutes.
At this point, I'm convinced that it's easier to master this mission with henchies than with random people. With people you have to worry about people going afk randomly, someone running off to open chests, people slow to move along to the next fight, no one focusing on target, etc. With henchies, it's not about a specific profession or a specific build, although you do have to be somewhat effective. It has more to do with knowing the route, knowing when to push aggressively into a group and when to pull/separate the enemy, and always moving forward. Do that and call targets, and I think any profession can master this with henchies.

totally agree, this mission is masterable with hench. I use my Sinn with henches and run the path suggested by Wiki, I got master with ease.

lol yeah that works fine with me too^^
make use of the henchies, take your time and youll make through the mission, even if it takes 30mins what the heck?

I've gone through nahpui with 7 characters now, and each time used hench. Got masters every time without really trying. I alwasys start with the mezmer for some reason. The degen isnt all that troublesome with a blessed light hench.
