Some questions about farming Sskai

i have just started to solo him and have a few questions:
~ does he only drop his sword when he has it ?
~ if so how is a good way to tell if he does/ does not have it?

also i read a thread on it and it said you NEED to use a longbow but fyi i you can usually catch him with your aggro circle .. well i can

anyway if you could answer that would be great

Some people believe that bosses will have a higher chance of dropping their green item if they are wielding it at the time. However, I don't pay much attention to it. Whether they holding their green or not, they're dead meat as far as I'm concerned. I think it took me about 15 kills of Ssaki before I got his sword.

The long bow isn't essential but it makes life easier to pull him if he stays too close to his buddies.

yes there is apparantly a higher chance for him to drop his weapon but you have to wonder how they could possibly deduce that? i mean he either drops it or he doesnt so i don't see how they can tell that bosses have a higher chance to drop their green only if theyre wielding it.

Whether you can catch him with your aggro circle or not i bet you can't do it every time seeing as there are spawns where he stays annoyingly close to the group of Naga and often doesn't venture far enough away from them to be lured away from the mob. Get a longbow, they're dropped enough all over Cantha, doesn't have to be prestige just get a Jade longbow or something, never know Sskai himself may even drop one for you.

When factions was release bosses used to drop their weapon when they wielded it. They only didn't drop if you had antifarm. Rarely they dropped their weapon when they didn't wield it.

With some update that was changed. Since then most bosses always seem to wield their specific weapon. Now there is no way of telling if they will drop or not. While this is true for most bosses some (like Rajazan) never seem to wield their weapon. Still this has no effect on their droprate.

thanks guys and shadow i already have a cheap longbow i found and do use it when i need to but as i said i can usually just grap him with my aggro bubble
