Hypewise, we expected greens and got world drops. That's both good and bad. Looks are awesome; I'm waiting for prices on the Golden Maul to drop...

Anyone else found the Grinning Dragon Axe to? i found it yesterday.. was about to make a Screenshot of it when i was selling it to merchant but i klicked to fast >_< i try getting another one, had it easely in a farm run

I've been killing of Outcasts all over the Jade Sea and Wardens in Echovald forest ever since the update, while doing stuff in between as well and have yet to see a sword/shield drop.
All I can say is: typical!
Yea let everyone know about these skins then make them so elusive that the only people that find them are the ones that open 300 chests a day.
Can someone actually confirm that the jade sword/guardian of the hunt actually DROPS from an Outcast/Warden as the only posts ive seen here are people getting these items from chests.
I know in guildwiki's update notes they claim these drop from outcasts etc but how reliable and true is this information.
Seems like something is missing here ....

The new weapons drop as rare weapons only, so you need:
- a rare drop (which is rare)
- the chance of that rare weapon being one of the new skins
- then you want your chance of your weapon having good stats and a low requiery
As such, chest farming is you best chance of trying to get these new skins.
Still waiting for my sword, but I don't open nearly as many chests as some people here.

contradictory to what some people believe... the new items which are RARE items and all RARE items for that mater drop more frequently in higher lvl mob areas... it is dependant on the mobs in those areas for as what types of RAREs do drop and as to what types of chests it is NOT directly linked to what mobs surrounds a particular chest...
so your best bet to get any RARE including the new ones is to be in high lvl mob areas that drop those items... Chests still seem to be the best overal source of rares so idealy go to an area in the jade sea where lvl 28 mobs are and chest run away and youll find yourself pleasantly pleased....
and im sorry to those folks who believe that opening 6000+ chests makes them more qualified to come to a drop science... when really all it takes is a controlled environment and good obeservation skills...
ive managed to gather up around 22-23 jade swords in uner 200 chests which happen to be nowhere near any outcasts... no im not bragging im making a point

outcasts can drop jade weapons, colossal pick and outcast equipment.
as u can see the 3rd one was surrounded by afflicteds and is one of the few chests in that area that always drop plague items.
try it, run wherever u want in silent surf opening chests. if there's no afflicted near the chests u will never in this world drop a plague item.
go for it. wanna the same trick with onis? i can show u another run perfect to lure onis to chests if u want.
-in every area there are % of diffent foes
-chests drop equipment respecting the % of such foes.
-if theres a group of foes next to a chest this seriously determine higher chances for the chest to drop those specific foes equipment.
applied in the silent surf run: all chests there do have a given % of dropping outcast material. but if u pull outcasts next to them u'll have higher %. just a few afflicteds in silent surf ---> little % for chests to drop plague items (think i dropped 2 out of 1500 chests in this area without afflicted around me) but if the chest is surrounded by afflicteds the chances spike!
/opened 8360 chests, seriously dont mean to be rude, but if i say something i have enough proves to support it.

@Guinevere,have u also noticed that chest nowhere near any enemys mobs,but spawn oni next to them tend to give gold items alot? I just did a run myself and it happend in 2 spots where 2 chests were.

One day I was thinking about amber aegis.. and how much I wanted one.. and the next chest I opened, contained!!! An amber aegis.. therefore. my brain waves affect gw drops.

Would you rather take something from a pharmacutical company that only went through 1000 (this is a guess only 200 were stated) trials or something that went through 8000 trials and 4000 trials in seperate labs?

All that was said is that the nearest mob affects the drops from chests.
In Tyria this doesn't really seem to be the case, as I've found that all chests are area specific and not mob specific. Perhaps most of your chest running has been in Tyria?
It was also never said that Outcasts are the only mobs that drop/affect Jade Sword (BTW: they aren't)
I always thought everyone knew the connection between the zone/area and mobs near (including level, type) any given chest, it is so obvious to anyone who has done any serious amount of chest running in Cantha.

You jinxed me forever :POh and by the way, I have gotten a few Shinobi Blades from Luxon Chests surrounded my Outcasts, take note everyone. I think I have a few screenshots around. Might be a good chance to get a Gold Shinobi Blade and sell it for 100K+250 stacks of Ectos
