Anyway I just found a bronze shield with Armor +10 (vs. Lightning attacks). This is new right?

As far as the mention in the scribe about the weapons being sold to individuals, that is most likely a reference to the collectors/weapons crafters that are selling the new skins.

here's a thought.....just go to guru auctions and check out each of the categories....I just checked out swords and bows and the grinning recurve bow and jade sword are listed so, check out the other categories to see if there are any other new weapons/stuff

Shields with ONE specific damage reduction has been around forever I think.
I have a couple ancient ones on my mule from over a year ago with those kind of modifiers (I think it's a "-7 piercing" and a "-8 fire").

As for the thing a few pages back about creators being awarded a perfect version of their weapon, I'd love to get a perfect gold Lotus Staff, since they currently seem to be collector-only (I'd love to get a global 10/10 for my Mesmer, but there don't seem to be Mesmer req or 10/10's available right now).

The problem with caster gear is that the wand offhand combo looks crap yet is so much better then using a staff. So even if great staffs do drop for monks etc, no-one will actually use them in regular play because they can get better elsewhere via collectors using the wand./offhand combo etc.
Decent wands/offhands just don't seem to ever drop - and the skins aren't that great for them really. No wonder all the monks use totem axes, +5 energy katanas or other assorted warrior items :P
