Well the first two chapters are easy to see where the name came from.

"Prophecies" is called so because much of the storyline centers around the "Flame seeker Prophecies".

"Factions" is called so because much of the storyline centers around the two warring factions, the Luxon and the Kurzick.

So what do you think Nightfall is implying?

I would say the description of the game pretty much says all....

"In Guild Wars Nightfall, Elona has fallen under the shadow of an evil, outcast god. Against the encroaching desolation of an infernal realm, the people of Elona will need more than a hero to save them, they will need a hero to lead them. . .for nightfall is at hand."

there u have it....

Guys, the question is "What is Nighfall implying?"

I would say, it means "The game is coming soon this Fall" (as in, "the time is Nigh")

OR it's a homage to the Knights who say "Nigh".

Actually, it's spelled "ni." But, the joke doesn't really work as "ni" and "nigh" are pronounced differently.

Good job catching Nighfall, though. I usually miss mispellings, just reading what it's supposed to be anyway.

Well... Just based off the title alone, I would suspect it to be about a new sun god emerging and how the forces of good and light take over everything.

you have a point, asimov's does discuss the fall of civilizations each time the darkness (caused by a 2,500 year eclipse in a planet that is in constant illumination) occurs.

we could therefore infer that this darkness in elona will cause the distruction of the elonians and their civilization as they know it and we the heroes of tyria and cantha and the upcoming heroes of elona must save the day.

i just hope it won't that this time around, missions won't simply be a matter of killing more of the same the way it is in factions.

Poison Ivy: they just... don't like each other. And for us to have some fun.
And the Nightfall thing reminds of Diablo 2... remember the sun disappearing in Act II?

The Emperor's murderer Shiro Tagachi was brought to justice by the joined forces of the Kurzick champion Saint Viktor and the Luxon Champion Archemorus.

Unfortunately both these champions were killed by the Jade Wind and the Kurzicks and the Luxons got into a fight over the circumstances of the event, both claiming the laurels for their people, which eventually sparked the war among them.
