Ascending

I have a question about ascending. If my ranger were to beat his doppleganger at lvl 16, would I still get to 20?

No. You would get 50,000 xp. It used to be that way but they've changed it since most people who ascended were level 20 already and it gave them no bonus.

I beleive there is extra XP for beating the Doppleganger within a time limit.

Yes, beat the Dop in 50 seconds or less and you get a whopping 1,000 extra xp which is the bonus.

When he said no, he Meant yes, just because of your lvl.

At lvl16, you WILL get enough exp to get to lvl20.

It is 50,000 exp btw, with 1,000 extra for the time limit. 50k exp just HAPPENS to be enough to get you to lvl20 in this case.

Take all spirits and just shoot him with your bow. He will just sit there and crap out spirits the whole time.

6 spirits (something that doesn't harm you or help it), poison arrow and powershot. At least, that's what I used both times I ascended my ranger. Works well.

Assuming he wasn't run, he won't have poison arrow yet, so I'd say, hunters shot and power shot.
