The Pub

One thing I used to really like about this game was that you could go into a district and just chat it up, not worrying about trade/lfg spam. So what if from Droknors, or from LA(along with a couple places from factions and nightfall), you could zone to a pub/inn type place. Trade chat would be disabled here, and a bartender would sell you ale. It would be a roofed structure, with tables stools, and a fire place. To make it real atmospherey. People could use it for role play, or just come and chat with each other with out the trade spam or people shouting lfg. I'm sure lots of people would love it because I know noone likes all the spam in places like LA or ascalon, unless they're trying to buy something. And I know alot of people would have more interest in playing if there was someplace like this to make a friendly player community. That's part of what makes this game fun is playing with other people, and you can't have fun with someone who only says "WTS UBER 1337ZOR 50WRD OF UBERNESS!!!!111ONE!!!!"


So does anybody like this? Would you visit such a place? I'm open for comments and sugestions.


Added: I almost forgot, You should be able to have/buy one for your guild hall. Be able kick back and enjoy a cold one with your guildies.

I would love to go to a place with lots of people in it and not have the trade spam. Unfortunately that won't happen. By the very nature of selling, the spammers flock to where there is a lot of people, regardless. If trade chat is off, they use all chat. Heck, they do that anyways because they know people turn off trade chat. They're like those irritating pop-ups that used to be so prevelent throughout the internet before I switched to the Opera browser (then later Firefox, but I still think Opera is better, even if web sites don't support it as much).

The only sure-fire way to get rid of those fleas is to give them a more reliable way of selling that doesn't bother us (ie an auction house). But until then, expect the spam wherever there are lots of people.

Even if trade chat is disabled, whats to stop people from using normal chat to trade.

having WTS W.T.S and etc variants are already defaulted to trade channel, but people find ways around them. Nowhere is safe.

i just come on to guru or group with ppl ingame and turn off all the trace/local chat crap
