A good healing monk is best for FoW imho and Bond/Prot monk is good for UW.
Thing is this... in FoW you don't need a protection really, but in UW you need one heal and one prot monk.
Also don't get me wrong but having a healing and prot in FoW is nice but I would rather have a healing/restoration ritualist with me in FoW than a Bond/Prot monk.

With a good rit and a spike healing monk you can breeze through FoW.

Well, for UW its not wise to go in large groups as you don't make much money off of it. I recommend dualing UW.

When I was in Fow we had a bonder and a healer. The bonder but enchantments and maintained them on everyone while I healed them.

Or sometimes we just had two healers.

If your healing with a bonder bring skills like dwaynas kiss, orison, word of healing. Also you'll want to bring Divine Boon. Also Heal Party helps alot to for when your whole party is being attacked.

When ever I played with two healers the healing was much harder. People took alot more damage without the bonds on them. You'd take pretty much a basic healing build for this i think.

And the morale of the story. Do FoW with a bonder and a healer.

Life Bond I find to be complete trash in FoW. There is no justification to sending in your lead warrior stripped of 100 health because of a Shatter Enchantment. Practically every mob in FoW has one mesmer who will shatter that useless bond right away. That's not to say that enchantments are completely useless in FoW, but the AI will strip enchantments on that initial aggro.

A Ritual Lord with Union and Shelter, combined with a single healing monk is more than enough to clear most of the fissure. Monking is a breeze when everyone is taking 10% of their health at most, then -15 from everything.

yeah i noticed that last night ppl in my team wanted to get bonder so sure tested it but it ended up that i had to heal like crazy to keep em alive so next time active prot monk whould be better i think allso try Rit Lord but they are hard to find in Tyria.

i run a bonder in fow. i agree that life bond is worthless down there.

life barrier - 16 prot
blessed sig - 10 or 11 divine
mantra of inscriptions - 7 inspiration

you can bond everyone. always keep mantra up.
you could bring put leftover in smite and bring balth's aura to put on the tank so it will be stripped and not barrier. bring hex removal, veil and inspired. even remove hex will fit. i wouldn't worry about conditions. but hex removal is key.

you could even bring res.

I'd recommend you take the following:

For an elite skill, either word of healing or life sheath

For the other skills:
Reversal of fortune (mandatory in my opinion)
Rebirth (also mandatory, unfortunately)

Heal other (big heal when needed)
Dwanya's Kiss (can be a huge heal if you have a bonder)
Aegis or guardian
Shielding Hands (ok, most monks might argue with me on this one, but I love it for fow)

If you have a rit lord in your FoW group, demand that they be the one to remove the conditions you encounter from spiders. That'll free up a slot for you to remove hexes. Hexes are very common in FoW, although removing them isn't paramount.

I also like to take an emergency spell with for bad situations. I dig Divine Spirit (reduces spell cost by 5 energy for like 12 seconds). It allows me to spam heal and protect when the going gets tough.

I hear other monks brag about taking Channeling with (assuming their secondary class is a mesmer). Channeling is pretty good too.

Just be careful of your enchantments. Lots of mobs have shatter enchantment in FoW. Also, make sure you bring plenty of keys along. I swear 80% of the chests in FoW are gold. Unfortunately, you'll get crap frequently, but every so often, you'll hit a homerun with loot.

Ritual Lord is overrated. I like to play my ritulist with restoration better. The weapon skills is not enchantment so it can't be stripped. The other night we had a group of 2 monks, one ritualist, 2 ele, 2 warrior and one SS/BR necro. One of the warriors got lagged out right at beginning, but we kept going and wiped out entire skeleton area (The hardest part of FOW, I would say) with ease(No body died in that area). Also one ele quit at the middle so we had only 6 PPL. The skill I used are:

1. Vital weapon
2. Mend body and soul
3. Vengeful weapon
4. Spirit light
5. Resilient Weapon
6. Recup
7. Preservation
8. Flesh of my flesh

Vital weapon gives your lead aggro 150+ health and vegenful weapon gives health and does damage. Mend body and soul heals 90 and remove one condition, while resilient weapon adds +24 armor, +6 health regen if monk deos not have time to remove the condition. Recup gives entire party +3 HP regen for 45 seconds and Preservation heals +120 every 4 seconds.

I found ritual lord is really boring, but maybe next time I will try it out.

hmmmm well when i bond i bring life barrier and if i go as a healer i take spellbreaker with me.
yes spellbreaker. it helps big time, because when the agro tank goes and get agro mesmer can't strip him. Then when he is ready with agro, ranger can do his interupting job and the damage dealers can do their job.

and for UW

depending if you go in a group or as a 55 monk. 55 monk = spellbreaker
in a group, hahaha lol now i think about it i never went in with my monk with more then a SS necro.

but if you go with a 8 men group i would take world of healing.
