It depents entirely on your own playstyle, I suggest you read through some builds first too see what attracts you best . Could give some tips though but people will need to know what the character would be for, pve or pvp.

Welcome to the warriors (; mainly a bunch of people showing off their l33t armour, could know since I got a fine warrior myself).

I made and posted one of my own a few weeks ago... maybe a month or two ago. I copy my long posts, usually the builds, into Microsoft Word so if I ever need to reproduce the post without having to waste forever looking for it, I have it on file. Well here it is, intro and all. BTW, some of it is outdated, such as the knights gloves bit, so I have fixed that.

W/R Survivalist Build

I made this build a week or so ago, and found that I died very few times in later areas, such as the southern shiverpeaks. This build is also very flexible, and can be changed according to the area and what you prefer.

Class- W/R

Armor- Doesn’t really matter, though I prefer wyvern/platemail/dragon

Runes- Minor axe mastery, minor strength, minor tactics, and the best absorption and vigor you can get.

Weapon/Shield- Axe, the best you can get. Get Grognar’s Defender or the collector one if you’re going to take a stance, otherwise it doesn’t matter.

Attributes- Axe 13, Wilderness survival 9, Strength 9, Tactics 9

Build-
2 axe skills, I like to use executioners strike, and dismember, though its up to you
Healing Signet
Troll Unguent
Apply Poison
(Spare slot, take sprint, a defensive stance, or a good shout)
Serpent’s Quickness

The elite depends on if you need defence or offence. If you want defence, take some points out of axe, put them in wilderness survival, and take Melandru’s Resilience. If you want offence, take Triple Chop.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is easy to use, just use SQ before a fight, and then troll unguent if it looks like you might die (if you have SQ with troll unguent, it will recharge 3 seconds before it runs out. This is really conveinient because it takes 3 seconds to reapply. 30+ seconds of troll unguent ftw), or apply poison if there are many fleshy creatures and there is only a small risk of death.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Notes- If you don’t take triple chop, take cyclone axe to spread poison and build adrenaline.
- Melandru’s Resilience can be capped from the Facet of Nature at the Dragon’s Lair Mission.
- Triple Chop can be capped in Bukdek Byway (I think that’s what is called, anyway if you leave from lions arch and leave the city you get to you’re in the right place) from Three Wing Blade. If that’s a bit incorrect just say and I’ll fix it. For more info look it up on GuildWiki.

The rez siggy goes in the spare slot, though I usually don't take it. I have listed 7 skills, but just under the list of skills, I have written some stuff about the elite you want to take.

I assume you actually use this build? How does it work with Serpent's Quickness, Melandru's Resilience and possibly a defensive skill (or sprint) all being stances? The existing stance would end if you put up one of the other ones, so SQ would never help MR or a defensive stance.

It also seems like a lot of energy, but MR would provide some if used with a condition or hex.

It also seems like a lot of energy, but MR would provide some if used with a condition or hex. - If I'm using Melandru's Resilience I sometimes drop SQ for another healing/utility skill.

- SQ will work on a stance, although it will be cancelled out in the process.

- I usually use SQ for my axe skills, in combination with heal siggy and Troll Unguent.

- My spare slot does not necessarily need to be a stance. If you are primarily tanking, then you could put shield stance or something, but otherwise you could put watch yourself or maybe dolyak signet? As I think I mentioned, this build is quite flexible so if there's something you don't quite like, then swap it for something.

Well if we are talking about tanking melee damage, I've been really liking Auspicious Parry + Riposte + deadly riposte. That's really just for pve tho.

Tanking these days is hard though because...

1) Most times you have henchmen, and it's hard to pull and get aggro.

2) There are useless noobs in all PuGs who like to pull with their 10 AL eles and prevent all aggro from going to the warriors. Then they usually blame the monks for not healing or the warriors for not holding aggro.

Chuck it in the spare slot then. Thats why I love this build. It's so flexible.
