How to upgrade to factions with cd key

Im playing GW regular right now, but my friend is quitting and hes giving me his factions cd key. Can i just ONLY use the cd key to play factions? Or do i need to install factions / download factions?

assuming he didnt add factions to his account, you can add the CD key to your account to access factions with ur current characters.

To do this log-in on your account and select "manage account" and then "manage access keys" and you should be able to figure it out form there.

If he's alerady used the Factions key on his account, you won't be able to use it.

As said, if he ahs used his CD-Key, you cannot add it to yours/and you cannot merge accounts either.

1.)I dont understand,its kinda confusing.... The cd-key can only be REGISTERED to one account? Since hes already played factions on his account, there is no way for me to play factions with his cd key? what if he deletes his account (if thats even possible?)

2.) since i have the original GW CD and cd key. Say i get a new computer and i install gw and type in the cd key and create a NEW account.. thats not possible because the cd key already is registered to my original acc right?

1. there is no way you can use his cd key if he's used it before.

2. The account goes on the email address you provided, meaning you can use a different computer to log into your account, as long as the email address and password you used match.

i guess if i lose my cd key it dont matter, if i lose my account im fked eh

he can give you his account and you'd have two account but that's about it
