recently i was in a group where everyone in the group was trying to get me to kill the same target. But if i attacked a different target it died way before the one they were attacking did. I was explaining that if i attacked their target then he would die so fast my combo wouldnt go off and i would waste the combo since i would change my victim. Now, what would you say is faster, an assasin speeding up the kill of a target by 1 second and slowing down the kill of another by a couple seconds, or killing 2 targets in the time it would take to kill one?

My combo is palm strike-HotO-FS-TfT. If i attack the same target it would die after palm strike goes off, i may get HotO off but its very unlikely. After thats foe is down id hve to wait about 8 seconds before i can use palm strike again and about 10 before HotO. So it would drastically slow down the kill of second target.

Correct me if im wrong, but shoudnt an assasin be killing a guy faster then everyone instead of slowing things down with concentrated fire?

If you have your dual attack charged but your target dies, you cant use that dual attack on a different enemy until it recharges again. This would overall slow down the kill i would think, wouldnt it?

It was also brought up that the overall time to kill everything in a mission would be decreased if the tank attacks the same target and reaplces an assasin.

sins should sneaks in back rank and back stab squishes... ... normally warriors would engage other warriors and absorb dmg, then you use shadow step to the back rank and unleash your combo, come back then lick your wound...

yes you will have down time...

Don't follow targets, especially if you have a devastating combo. You're the sin, you pick your targets. ( HoTo needs to be triggered )

Indeed, as an Assassin i always pick my own targets, because otherwise I don't get my combo and make myself useless. But if I pick my own targets, like soft targets, I have no problem getting my combo's.

Those who've never played a 'sin can't truly appreciate the intricacies of timing the combination....YOU decide who your target is.

Cheers!

Editing just to elaborate a little....

Will a good Nuker pick the called target for a Meteor Shower? No, the foe in the center of a mob will be the choice target for maximum effeciency.

Will a good SS Necro pick the called target for Spiteful Spirit? Of course not, that target may wind up dead too quickly to maximize SS.

Sure these examples are AoE, but the point is....THEY know what works best for their build, so trust yourself to know what's best for yours.

In my usual guild team I call my targets, so they know where I'm going! I don't want them to help unless I call for the same target twice!

On some of the healing bosses, I join in with the team, using my interupt, just to provide that extra bit of time between healing spams. If we have other interupts on the team I concentrate on my combos.
