Well, not exactly. It was killed by a mob, while I was trying to charm it. My ranger still wants it, but it's gone now.
Will it ever come back? I have been farming Ferndale all day, and it didn't appear. Does it appear randomly, or is it extinct now?

I had that problem during the preview event. What worked for me was tagging along with someone that had the quest - he was there for the charming once I entered the area with a questholder.

Go back to where the black moa was for the quest. It should still be there even AFTER you have completed the quest. If it is not then it must just randomly appear, i know that i have gone out before and it was still there. Maybe try finding someone who still has to do that part of the quest and charm it then.

For me it's always there whenever I enter the area (usually for chests), you must be unlucky or something - try with henchies.

That place is called Ferndale. I farmed it all day, but it wasn't there.

It is in that big clearing, that kinda looks like temple ruin, right?

If you've done the quest about the horrible "Beak of Darkness"!!! Leave from Fort Aspenwood and you should see him by the time you get to the end of the first little path into the big central area with all the crazy dredge running around. It will be kinda up against the wall to the right from the end of that path.

Aspenwood is a lot colser then House zu Heltzer; it's practically right outside the door

No. The black moa spawns closer to Fort Aspenwood than it does to House zu Heltzer.

The Black Moa always spawns once you've completed the quest, or have anyone in your party that has completed the quest.

As for location, it's sitting right outside Aspenwood. If you walk out the gate, you'll see the standard group of Kurzick guards, and the NPC dredge Mole-something-or-other to your left. If you walk a bit further southwest you'll come to a huge clearing with many fast-moving dredge patrols. The Moa is just inside the clearing. The spawn location does have slight variation (and of course it moves around a bit), but most of the time you don't have to fight more than one or two dredge groups to grab it.
