Moniter Freezing and then coming back......sort of...

While entering guild wars i am able to log in, choose my character, and begin the game. A few minutes into the game my moniter screen freezes, goes black and then flickers back to life. this keeps continuing until i close guild wars or until the moniter goes to sleep. And then i need to reboot my computer to get it to work again.

I have a HP Media Center PC and a HP vs 19 flat Panel moniter.

I have a Radeon X700 pro graphics card.

I have a Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00 Ghz.

If anyone has anything that could help me i will gladly appreciate it.

Are you sure it is your monitor that is freezing, then coming back. It might be guild wars doing that, while your monitor is fine. Run Guild wars in Window mode and see if only the game screen or your entire monitor does it. Might be easier to diagnose and fix the problem from there

What soundcard? Soundblaster Audigy?

have you tried updating the drivers for your graphics card?
does it only happen with GW or any full screen game?
what happens if you try a lower resolution or refresh rate?
is wait for v sync enabled?
