They need to know where the banner is from. The ad is from an outside source, and by showing them where it links to, will be able to find it much easier. Just hover the mouse over it, and screenshot the bottom corner of the page, where the link address shows up

Hey, I just now saw that ad. I remember this thread from earlier so I caught the link, or rather links (both the adserver link, and the address it goes to when you click on it).

Here ya go:

adserver: http://ads.addynamix.com/click/2-213...mmoguru.com%2F

click-through: http://www.passion.com/search/p28069...ride=1&ip=auto

Hope that helps.

NP, guys.

Honestly, there may be no nudity, but there was some fairly risque pictures. I'd hate to be 13-16 years old and have a parent look over my shoulder to see either that ad or that site on my screen. It would be followed with "I don't want you getting on that site again!", referring to both the link and where I clicked through to that link (i.e. GWG). So, yeah... uptight parents, I suppose.

As a parent, I wouldn't want that ad on a website my kids were going to. The name of the site is bad enough but then it says "sexy ads for sexy people" and you just know there's stuff you don't want your kids to be looking at.

While on the subject of " iffy " adverts, one of the adverts Free Smileys, while may be amusing to some, the smileys are downloaded from S***ey Central, which bundled in their software is some nasty adware which can cause problems with alot of pc's. And has been branded a nuisance by a number of internet security forums. Perhaps you could also look into removing this one also please

And 99% of the "click here and give us your email address" will spam you email that contains stuff wtih adware bundled with it :\

You cant win every fight. Ok, i accept what you say as true fella.
But can i ask you a question, would you want your internationally recognised, boasted about website, known to be using advertising, causing adware related problems with their pc, especially with so many ppl with problems looking for help on this site?
Admittedly, i have not seen this advert for few days, but i have all my pop-up bockers, advert blockers on.

We encourage people to click the ads, but we also advise extreme caution if you decide to participate in the services that they offer. As with anything, it's good to be cautious of things unless you're absolutely sure they're ok.

Thank you for your reply Lasareth, although, it is disappointing to hear you say that you dont object to having such adverts, on Guru, and will pass your reply onto.

At the top of this very page, I see an add that says

"WHICH MEMBER OF NSYNC IS GAY"

Ultimately, I understand advertising is a necessity, but I'd much rather have things like "SWAT THE FLY AND WIN AN IPOD" or "HILLARY CLINTON FOR PRESIDENT GET AN XBOX 720 LOLOL KEKEKEK ^_6" then provacative things.

Either way, I come on this site to relax, and quite frankly, I'm sick of how obscenity has become a standard in society.

I'm male and 15. And stuff like that makes humanity suck, how ever good of a job it does to finance GWG.

Fair point matey, but all i was trying to do was point out this download is a known cause of pc troubles. But the Forum Mod has clarified, this sites postion on adware infected adverts, which i have thanked him/her for their opinions. And yes, i understand the need for advertising to bring the money in, but would urge them to rethink their advert policies. But that is just my opinions.

To clarify a few things:I haven't said it wasn't going to be removed. That's up to the site admin. If you have ad blockers, please turn them off. It's personally very irritating to see someone denouncing an ad when they refuse to even let it load. The ad itself won't infect anyone. Provocative is different for different people. With a reasonable argument, we will check any ad out. However, it has to be a bit more clear to us why it's bad rather than "it's bad"
Thanks.

causation, as someone who does not support this site by enabling an ad blocker, I can't take your complaint seriously knowing that you don't even see the ads. And just as a word, I have actually clicked on that link before and been to that site. Unless they proactively download the smileys they will not be infected and once someone is OFF our site I can not control their actions. That same person can go to any site through any ad, forum, or 3rd party and infect their PC. Viewing that ad, clicking on that ad, does not infect someone's computer. I can not control what a user does once they LEAVE this site and am not responsible for their actions. Just as if we had an Ebay ad and that person decided to sell their character violating the Guild Wars EULA, there's no responbility on my part for what they decide to do. Someone could very easily have a link to an imageshack picture as an attachment in a post, that when clicked on could pop up an ad with the same effect. I am not responsible nor can I control what a user decides to download once they leave this site. Enough said there.

And B§x¿44¶»1@$, your arguement is ridiculous. I can't even believe I'm going to say this but a member of the NSYNC band DID in fact announce he was gay. It's not provocative, it was a multiple choice question that happened to be a fact. Just because you found offense to the question asking if someone is gay does not mean the other 1/2 of the population believes it's offensive.

TGgold, I will get that ad removed. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

My parents know the internet's full of dodgy stuff, seeing an advert for it would bother neither them or me in the slightest. And I'm guessing most children know that it is possible for clothes to be taken off, I doubt this advert will mentally scar them in many ways.

If you're at a store and buy some darts, it's the store's responsibility to make sure they're packaged safely so you don't get harmed.

However, if you go back home and throw one of those darts straight into your foot, that's your own fault. Nobody's responsible for that level of negligence but you.

So yeah, if you decide to throw your PC around and jump up and down on it like a monkey, that's your fault. Same as if you try to download something you don't know. Nothing from our site will infect or damage your computer, you can be sure of that. What you do beyond that is your choice, and we're not responsible for it.

Inde, my arguement is not ridiculous.

I'm just saying, it's completely stupid that that is in plain sight for children to see etc. Quite frankly if I was a father and I saw that add, I wouldn't want my kids on that site, for the soul purpose of it.

No, I'm not a controlling freak, but certainly it's bad that stuff like that has become a norm in our society, and how 90% of people just go with it like everything is hunky doory.

If you want to clean up the internet, perhaps you should start somewhere a little more meaningful. Chances are if you won't let your child on this site for fear of him correctly guessing which Back Street Boy is gay, then that child of yours is either too young to be on a forum (below 13)or he happens to be above 13, probably already knows what "gay" means, and that females have breasts.

Also, if anyone has a problem with cleavage, what are you doing on a site for a game that has it in it? Perhaps I should go screen shot my elementalist's rack.

I don't zoom in and look at the cleavage. In fact, most of the time I just see their back and/or can't eb bothered to see any of them at all. Now, having cleavage pop up in the middle of the top of your screen is like...forced cleavage O_O
