Preparing for Nightfall? How so?
=HT=Ingram
Gold. for Skill unlocking .. Allas its looking like I will have to do it again 1 plat at a time for my skill set...
maybe saving up some materials in storage for some goodies, but nothing beyond the normal really... I have several ecto shards and amber I can dump for some quick gold on the NPCs... then I should be in good shape again to get the new skills in nightfall... I have time. no biggy...

Tanned hides FTW. Unfortunately, I just made a new sin and plan on making a Dervish. So I'm not really making money per say... just going to not have to spend as much when the prices sky rocket.
IrishCatholicNewYorker

why you farming greens?
cantha greens will just go low in price when nightfall release, same happend to tyrian ones when factions came out!

Stocking up on the basic materials, going to be a shortege again same as when factions went live.

How am I preparing for Nightfall?
By playing other games. Mainly Company of Heroes. It's an amazing game. HL2:E1 is also pretty sweet. Then there's Prey, which I haven't even touched. I think I'll just about be done with these by the middle of November, in time to get and enjoy Nightfall if it gets good reviews.
Ya, I liked the preview and all, but PvE is not really my thing and I'm bored of the current PvP scene, so unless GWN gets fantastic reviews, both official and by fans, I'm gonna sit it out.
Basically, I think it will come down to a choice between GWN and NWN2 for my time, and being as how I lost several years of my life to NWN, I think GWN has a huge barrier to overcome. I'll probably buy GWN anyway, though. Free play ftw

Uh...I'm just trying to finish Factions
And saving my pennies, or trying to...did I really need that new sword?
Same as Factions, I won't do anything to prepare. I won't have materials or money for the new 15k armors. I'll just play through the game, and if I get a lucky drop then we'll see about some new armor, but otherwise, I'm playing it through the same as Factions and Prophecies. A poor noob.

Investing in black dye, collecting lots of 250 stacks of every crafting material and trying to get a few superior vigors.

I'm collecting materials, mainly steel, iron, cloth and tanned. Also collecting vigor runes, as these may skyrocket for a few days
Insuscient Ranger
Same as Arkantos.

For me it was mostly about finishing the last Prophecies mission (I have factions, but don't really care for it, so i'm not worried about finishing it before Nightfall). I had been stuck on Hells Precipice for about 2 months, couldn't find a good PUG and my guild mates (all 4 of them are never on). Finally finished it last Wed. night. Now i'm farming for materials....

I'm gonna pick up the pace and get to the desert. Then when I get Nightfall I can change my secondary to Dervish. I'm considering a Necro/Derv build based on Cold dmg. Grenth's Fingers/Shivers of Dread owns. I wish I could test this now. *sigh*

I'm still not sure If I will bother with either of the new classes, so for now my goal is simply to farm up 60k for whatever set of 15k Ele armor tickles my fancy in Elona.

I don't know about everyone else, but I've been working on a few things to prepare for the release of Nightfall. I've changed my daily diet to include 3500 calories so that I have plenty of energy to release in that first frantic week and added a exercise regimen of lower lumbar endurance and small motor control exercises. And, I've decreased my caffine consumption so that when I take it up again October 27th it will be doubly effective. In addition to the previous I've slowly been eliminating sleep from my schedule of things to do in a day, requiring only about 4 hours a night on average now.
Of course I've also invested in a better, more reliable, internet connection and a larger, and more eye friendly, moniter. I've also committed to memory any and all phone numbers to all-night delivery service restaurants in the area and have put aside a cash jar for tips for the delivery men, or women. I've also beefed up my music playlist to keep the mood energetic to help me get through those long nights of lonely farming and chest running.

You guys do realize that now that people are expecting material prices to increase, many more people will be stocking up, so don't expect prices to exactly triple as they did during the release of factions, though I do think they will go up some.
TheBaron82
1 thing that will probably always goes up for every chapter is Sup Vigor.

I would agree that sup vigors are going to be even more popular, not only because of the new armors and charactes, but also because people will want their heroes to have them as well. So yes, probably wise to stock up on those, unless anet decides to do to them what they did to sup absorptions - not that I'm complaining though.

preparing!???
Finishing up factions....I need closure on that first so I am getting my last characters through the game, capping the last few elites....and then I am collecting stuff, kinda like for the titles ---which I am working on as well, I want to fill up my storage! I know I wont get those pesky ectos or shard since I dont do fow or uw....but the other materials are easier to get.....and will be saving up some extra cloth and tanned hides as well, wish I knew what the other crafting materials will be.......but that will be a surprise when I get there.
Already have some nice wands and focii for my new ele, and a nice selection of bows that my ranger mule isnt using as well. Guess I will need to keep those minor ele runes as well when I get them......so at least 1 of my new characters will have stuff to start with, my paragon wont.
I am still working on titles from tyria so when I finish up with factions I still have some stuff to do there---more characters to get protector on and at least 90% exploration, while my rit/E and newest monk/mesmer still need to cap skills there as well.
Plenty still to do before I get nightfall, if I do indeed decide to get it, that is

Anybody going to be hoarding Elonian Leather Squares on the offchance... you know, it being Elonia.
Spadas Datum
My preparation is hoping that Derv Fow will look good, cause that's the first thing on my to do list for Nightfall. Off course, stocking black dyes cause that's what I'll be dying all derv armor.
Kais Unduli
Just like everyone else, been saving up money and crafting materials. Also, I've been using the drops during missions and farming to stock up on npc weapons for my heroes once Nightfall starts up. Might as well give my heroes perfect weapons to start off with. Runes as well.
Gonzo
I moved all my piles of 250 materials from storage to my mule, made new piles, moved those to my mule and so on. I'm going to sell all those piles October 28th and hope to get "Teh [email protected] cashz!" that's about it.
Shoitaan
*Trying* to get the rest of my Kurzick 15k made for my mesmer so when Nightfall rolls around I can look spiffy.
Trying to get 3rd and 4th characters through Faction while also saving up some cash.
Trying to do 3 assignments and a thesis... crap

Mainly farming materials and gold in general.
I can't believe I spent 40k today on two swords.. the prices were low, so I had to capitalize... I'll sell one for profit, but I'll still be down some cash.

I'm going to farm Elites that the hero AI might be "smart" enough to recognize as useful.
Ninna
already have all nonelites unlocked
- working on more elite skills (for heros)

Reiden Argrock
well, besides the norm of saving money and materials, which I do anyway, cleaning up my current characters.. emptying bag's, tossing old junk, organizing everything I suppose I'll finish unlocking all the skills for sins/rits. Already got all elites unlocked for the title so dont' need those, and um.. stocking up on sleep and supplying my self with food so if I forget to eat once NF comes out I'll have a little supply stored up lol

Keeping crafting materials - ran WAY short of them last time and I do not want to sit around waiting to buy armor.
Keeping any vigor runes I find. I'll most likely purchase a major vigor before too long incase the price really jumps.
Keeping decent weapons I find to give to my hero's. I usually sell them and I do not want to have to go on a crafting spree to give them decent weapons.
And lastly doing a few unlocks. I do not know if the hero's will still use your unlocks for thier skill set, but there are a few elites I never bothered to cap that I like. Currently I have no healing monk unlocks (I had a smiter, I both greatly dislike and an poor at playing a healer) other than what the prophecies main campaign gave as rewards. I'm holding off on them and will most likely try my hand at some RA for enough faction to unlock a few skills I want the monk hero to have. But I'll wait until release before spenging it in case it has changed.
I know I want one black dye (chest), three red (head, leggs, feet), and one green (hands) for my dervish so I will also keep them if I find them. Otherwise most likely go ahead and drop them to the trader.
Of course, none of those a get rich quick schemes. Mostly hoarding it for my own use. Though if some of the prices really shoot through the roof I will most likely sell them and wait.

*has already made over 20k by selling 1500 Tanned Hide Squares to the trader during the Preview*
*has already gotten another 750 Hides in 2-3 hours for when Nightfall hits*
So yeah...why wait for Nightfall again? <.<
