Material Crafter NPC for Guild Halls
The Shadow
NOTE: I did use the search feature and found a previous posting that was made several months ago, but not very well visited. I figured it was time to resurrect, what I think is, a great idea.
This is one thing that seems to elude me. Anet has made material traders (both regular and rare) available to us for our guild halls. Yet, they do not have a material crafter for us to buy.
I would like to see a material crafter available to us. The crafter would be able to provide the services of crafting things such as:
leather
steel
parchment
glass vials
ink
maybe even damask (etc)
I won't go as far as asking for the material crafter to create the natural or uber-rare materials such as:
monsterous fangs
monsterous eyes
deldrimore steel
jade
amber
ecto
shards (etc)
Aside from just being ludicrous (crafting natural items), it may lead to unbalancing the game/destroying the game economy.
The only thing that would concern me is that more and more people would be running around with rare materials, which could drive down the price at the traders, and possibly "ruin" the economy on a handful of rare crafting materials. But, on the other hand, if people are crafting rare, that would drive up the price on some common crafting materials (wood, iron, glittering dust, plant fibers etc).
Okay, okay... apart from the obvious 1 time money sink (cause everyone would get one... lol), it woud be very useful to us players as well.

wow... maybe there was a reason that archived post wasn't well visited...

But for the things that are cheaper to craft than buy, it's easier to zap to your hall than track down the proper crafter. I like the idea myself.

/signed,
Parchment is a pain to run to Sardelac then back.

I think it makes the armor crafting process a lot more personal and imerssive if you have to track the crafters down. I see your point, and it's a good and valid idea, but I disagree.
