gold vs green
Salty Assassin
I dont understand why gold items rake so much more money than green ones
alot of the green items have just as good preformance as gold ones and are much rarer(if that is the right way to say it).
Im wondering if some items are more expensive because of how they look or just because certain gold items are more popular to have
would sombody help me know what makes some items sooooo expenceive and some below the 10 k lvl?

Some people might not like the skins or want an item that feels rarer. Identifying a gold crystalline and getting perfect mods is a lot cooler than having some green which will get farmed more and more, and the price will go down.

Golds cost more because they're rarer then greens. Greens always drop from a specific boss or non-boss enemy(totem axe) and they are already max stat/mods. There's no guarantee any certain gold will drop in any specific place; and if you do get one; there's no telling if the mods on it will be any good. So when someone does manage to get one that also has perfect mods, it will be worth a lot.

personally one of the main reasons why gold items go for alot more is that you can edit the stats on a gold item while you can't do the same with a green item.
So for example
Gold Zealous daggers of dagger mastery
7-17- req 10 Dagger mastery
15^50
Zealous Hilt
Dagger mastery + 1 chance 20%
you could edit dagger mastery and change for a fortidue or armor hilt
with Green Daggers you can't change any of the stats what you see is what you get.
Also usually the Green weps only seem to come in one skin, one of the biggest money pullers is getting weps which have rare skins like for example a Crystalline sword or a serpent axe. Weps like these usually go for triple platinum figures simply because of the skin sometimes.

Gold items show that you have money to spend. Oh, and another reason might be that Green items can't be dyed.

thanks for the help
but do you personaly think that a gold item is worth the price when you could get one exactly like it for alot less in green
my opinion is that the green items look cool and i dont see many using them
also ive never picked one of farming for some reason
i have a hammer that has curved spikes all teh way aroudn and it looks sick

You have a small chance of getting a max sephis axe to drop. smaller chance of it being gold. smaller chance of it being a low req. smaller chance of it having a good inherit mod. The Razorstone will always drop with the same stats, cant be modded, and cant be dyed. Which one do you think is more rare?

I pretty much agree with what everyone said before. Golds are a LOT more rare, but Greens get the job done for the adventurer on a budget.
If you're looking for something specific, it costs. If you just want some good stats, Greens are cheap and do the job needed. I love my Draggo's Vampiric Flatbow, but I also love the Req. 9 Gold Flamberge I found which I modded to suit my very specific needs. I guess I'm just lucky to have found both of those myself :P

Green items are just a bit dull but it gives everyone a chance to get weapons fairly easy whith good mods on them.

well to me personally skin takes a back seat to effectiveness. i have a sskai's sword, that has health+30, 15^50, and double adrenaline on hit 10%, i think it is ten. and since i use 4 adrenaline skills this sword comes in handy. and it is the perfect sword for me so i will keep it forever probably, so i went ahead and customized for my char. but the golds do get more money because it is harder to get good mods on them. but you dont need one to do good.

simply put:
Golds:
personal items that can have allmost any skin, be under req 9, can change the mods on them and the colour as well. for people who can afford to chest run/farm/trade for the rest of there lives.
Greens:
they have speffic stats, always crop in a certain place, mods cannot be changed, cannot be dyed, usually req 9, better choice for pvpers who are concerned more woth funcationality over stlye and the player on a budget.

Even simpler:
Rare = Unique = Wanted = Expensive
Green = Not Unique = Wanted Less = Less Expensive
I used to buy rare weapons, and it wasn't for the skin. I loved the attention. I would go down to FoW in a chest run wielding a Crystalline. Before it started I'd get requests to see it. Now I've had them, the feeling of owning a Rq8 Sephis with lovely mods isn't the same. Now my arsenal consists of 60% collector weapons, 20% rares and 20% greens as apposed to 80% rare and 20% green.

It's all about the bling.
A rare gold will make people stop and say "whoa", but a green doesn't make people batt an eye. It's the same reason people buy FoW armor even though it's no better than the 1.5k armor from droks, it's about showing off just how rich you are.
Golds offer nothing but a bit of status and a way to make yourself stand out. This is why they are more valuable.

taken from wiki:
If the character's rank in the required attribute is not high enough, one of two stats can be used:
-If the weapon is a collectors, crafter, quest reward, or unique weapon, then the stat used is the one for a starter weapon of the same type.
-If the weapon is a dropped item, then the stat used is half of the current stat. For example, a max 6-28 axe will have a damage range of 3-14 when you do not meet requirements.
Gold shields with 8-16 base AL will give 8 AL to characters that do not meet the requirement. Green, PvP, and collector shields instead only give 5* AL in those circumstances.
....so thats another advantage of gold items

Though in some cases greens will have a unique skin. These ones are normally desired as much as gold items. Such as Kanaxai's Axe which has a VERY unique skin and brilliant stats.
