Red Iris Flower
Storm Aldur
Is there more to these than meets the eye? I find people offering to buy them for 20g each. Any explanation for this?
The Shadow
There have always been rumors about those things relating to Gwen in the storyline. All of them have been (as of yet) unfounded/unrealized.
Red iris flowers can be sold to the merchant for 5g. The only place you can get them is in Pre-Searing Ascalon. The rumors involving Gwen all require so many flowes, capes, flutes and/or gold to invoke Gwen and her "powers".
IMO... it's throwing money away. They will always be sold, and as of now, other than giving them to Gwen in Pre-searing Ascalon, there's no use for them.

The Pointless
Keep giving Gwen the flowers until she finally give you a cape. Bin that and from now on all chars in pre will be able to have her follow you and give a (random) 20HP heal.
Mordakai
It's speculation about Nightfall, and maybe Gwen being brought back. (long shot)
Thing is, unless Prophecy pre-searing is changed, you will just be able to go and pick up new flowers (or tapestries, or flutes, etc.), so for those of us who have prophecy, if these items unlock some secret stuff in Nightfall, we'll have no problems attaining the items.
However, those who don't own Prophecy will be at our mercy... unless they have these things available in Nightfall, too.
Bah. It's not even worth the storage space at this point, IMO.

In my experience, red iris flowers make excellent gifts for other players.
When I get a run to somewhere I give a flower in addition to the money owed, it's usually greatly appreciated.

Ya alot of people post things like this on different boards (the link below is on this board
) To win the 25k in-game money you need 56 red iris flowers along the other things in the list.

Red Iris flowers are kind of a good-luck charm for me. I know that their only real use is to give them to Gwen, but I don't really care.
I have a small collection of them in my stash at any given time. And it is nice to give them to other players out of the blue. One of the few items that's never really expected.

There was a 15 page thread about 'The Gwen Story'. It's unfinished. Broken. Gaile said it herself. Want proof? Anyone remember the update that removed a useless NPC from stingray strand? That was Mingas the Meek, part of the useless story. Just sell your flowers, they mean nothing.
Beatrix of Alexandria
Was that npc the one that gave you the cape? I remember seeing something about it on the wiki I think

It's because on-line geeks are desperate to do whatever they can to get with virtual chicks...

I think Red Iris Flowers are a Tyrian thing. Don't really see them having any uses in any of the future chapters, well, unless it returns to Tyria

blood4blood
I give them to my wife in-game, she likes them. That's enough for me.
EDIT: I feel like a total slacker saying I give her in-game flowers, so to redeem my online self-esteem, I have to mention I also gave her a dozen real roses yesterday. Domestic bliss ftw.

It would be nice if they had added in a type of flower in factions as well, it could become a growing trend among chapters.

Actually there is a secret to giving gwen the iris flowers and other such things. There was a thread posted on guildwarswiki.com gave away the secret, not sure if it's true but gwen should be giving something in return

whats this about gwen and her 'powers' i just found her annoying, lol, 'i think ill follow you!' uh, why?
The Pointless
Once you give her a new flute, every time she plays it, you receive a 20HP heal. Once you get this her "services" are instantly available to all new Tyrian characters

Naremae
is it true about a dye stash?, can you get it after pre-searing?

Wrong milias, that's the materials storage upgrade.
Beatrix is on about the standard 25-slot storage available to Tyrians and Canthans alike.
