UW/FOW in Factions
rong626
I just discovered that theres fow/uw in factions. Its in Zin Ku Corrider. The Statues of the gods are there too u just need to find em.I know i discovered late but ppl there keep asking pls spread the word
Curse You
I think this is the last place you need to be "spreading the word." Sure we know about the other entrance, but it's just easier for everyone to meet up at one place, rather than splitting up between two.

it still amazes me how few people know about this.
what they should do in the future, probably when they get around to making another temple area, is close down zin ku and toa, and make a 'great temple of the gods' island that everyone can travel to from all continents, so everyone from any chapter will all be meeting in the same place, rather than all spread out between continents.

How do you propse they "close down" ToA or Zin Ku? They are both vital outposts that you have to go through in their respective campaigns.

Tell some story about how "these gateways" to god realms have been corrupted by grasping darknesses.

That's untrue of ToA, and the statues are easy to miss as you're passing through Zin Ku, but I favor keeping them as they are. Let the players discover them in their own time (and hopefully after they've gained alot more experience in the game).

Zin Ku's entrance seems to be gaining in popularity a little, but ToA will always be the preferred entrance of prophecies owners. Zin Ku's biggest downfall is that you spawn so far away from the statues.

It shouldn't. The statues are quite a long distance from the spawning areas of the town. Alot of people simply don't explore towns, and there's nothing to entice them to explore that way. Then, because those people don't go looking, word doesn't spread much in game, and everyone goes back to thinking ToA is the only entrance.
CHUIU
When I first entered the town and saw "Euro currently has favor blah blah" is when I found out. I kinda put two and two together.

Besides, if you made a seperate isle for UW/FOW entrance, people would still have to play through enough of the storyline of whatever chapter to get their characters ascended so they can actually enter. Might as well leave well enough alone.

I passed through Zin Ku corridor approximatly 7 hours on the pre-releease day, America had favour so I wudnt be able to enter FoW/UW, and this was before Zin Ku had the "XXX Has Favour of the gods" message, like ToA does.
Just randomly I ran down the way to the statues, mainly looking for NPC missions and stuff, and pretty much just guessed this was UW/FoW access of Cantha.
So it really does amaze me the number of people that don't know this 4 months after release, I guess exploration is dead for people not to see these :S

I really think they need to combine these outposts. put an npc that takes you to a new town shared by all chapters. The realms are the only ones shared by all chapters, and I think it would be a good way to have a community pve area.

It doesn't amaze me. Most people skip most of the content, don't bother reading quests, just hit accept mindlessly and travel to the dot, then wonder why they fail if the quest is a little more complex than killing that enemy or picking up something. Stand in Altrumm Ruins and watch the amount of people yelling out "LFG Convocation" and "LFG Journey to House Zu Heltzer"
moko
'lfp fow 7/8 need monk'
'omg noob there is no entrance to fow here!!!!!'
'go down the corridor and check for yourself'
'okay, i will, but i tell you theres nothing, noob!!!!..................WTF!!!'
'told ya'
'shut up noob!!! *ingores*'
^this is too funny, its good that some people dont know it.
mot people are simply too lazy and dont care enough to check out other areas. the only time they might ever consider going there is if they are on the way to 'Meeting the Emperor' or if many others run there, but besides that, storage and merchant are on the other side, so are hench, so is the primary quest, all they need, no reason for exploring more.

Maybe they should put 2 npcs in there one near the storage (everyone goes to storage) telling you to go meet his brother that is standing next to the statues.

All my faction chars go to UW/FoW from ToA, I never used Canthan Statues.
Stupid Shizno
ill still use ToA as my main way to FoW, more people there and it seems more dedicated to it. I tried doing FoW with my proph monk in factions (was doing storyline, realized had favor, was in the right town said meh ok ill do it) they died at first group, talked to ghost. im sure this still happens in ToA groups but it just seems the experience level is higher there.
I do agree that there should be an island that is universal for all. or atleast a warp. for example, your a sin in factions, doing your hit and run thing, you want fow armor, no one is in the factions down doing fow and you got favor! what do you do? talk to "the new npc" that takes you to a relm full of everyone who wants to do the fow/uw relm. like HA. (though theres no npc for ha, but its the same concept of a large pool of people looking for groups)

I tried going to FoW from factions a few times with a PUG. It is something I do not want to repeat. Over 80% of people there were never in FoW before and are in general not experienced in high-end areas. That itself would not be a problem if they were willing to listen to advices given to the few % of people that have experience in that area. But they are not. I have enough gold but I still think taking a group there is a waste of my gold and my time.
Addone_Abaddon
I found out as soon as I got to the corridor, someone was shouting out "LFP UW OR FOW, LFP UW OR FOW"
no one answered, lol, we didn't have favour of the gods.
Edit: Maybe ToA and the corridor should have new icons, similar to mission ones, and in there you have a button saying something like "Enter Realm" and when you click it the choice of going to the UW or FoW.

There is no need to change any of the outposts.
In short the ToA is better because its smaller, easier to get around and everyone is there for UW/FoW 95% of the time.
On the other hand in Cathan it's a long run, not easy to get around, and there is a lot of things taking place there, like quests for example.
The outpost in Factions is simply poorly designed.

ToA is far from vital. It is in fact, unnecessary, just like Beetletun. It has no bearing on the storyline. I went through the whole game the first time without ever knowing it existed.
If you didn't happen to stumble upon it, the only way you would know it was there was because of the quest given in Fisherman's Haven.
I agree there should be a centralized island for access to the areas. I usually leave from ToA because some of our guildies don't have factions. It would be easier to just map to a new isle instead of having to map back to lion's arch then map again to ToA.

The only reason I knew of Fisherman's and ToA existance was from the World Map in the Prima Guide.

Hehe, yeah last night I went into FoW from Zin Ku. The party wasn't all that bad but they had no bonder and they'd brought an MM. It went ok for awhile until we hit the skeletons and the poor MM didn't have anything to do. Probably could've gone further but people started dropping, not realizing how long a Forgemaster run would take.
Give it time, the Canthan characters will figure it out.
Anyone else think it's high time the Ele's in there ditched Firestorm for Meteor Shower?

What pissed me off was going through Temple with my Speed nuke Mesmer a while back. I know how to play an ele and how to use my skills to not break agro. When I would start to set up and cast meteor shower on a perfectly clumped group of enemies, suddenly firestorm would come down just when my cast finished. Meteor shower wasted. Look around, and no other ele in the group. Oh wait, there's a Mo/E that is using firestorm!
I asked him to please stop because it was screwing things up, but he just kept at it. We missed masters by a short amount of time that probably could have been gained back if he didn't keep causing agro scatter.
