Don't you think the number of threads in this forum that repeat previous threads and ideas is a little irritating? Nobody reads the index of ideas, nobody reads the "read first" thread.
I'm not sure why this is, and some people will always register and with their first post, start a thread that has been discussed a thousand times before, without looking through the guidelines or through the index. This will always be the case.
Isn't there something we can do to cut back on this though? For instance, there are about 7 stickies in this forum. Don't you think that people will be more likely to read important stickies, if there were fewer?
stuff we could eliminate:
introducing spotlight concepts. spotlight concepts are pretty self explanatory on their own aren't they? you could post most of the information here in the first post for each concept anyway.
concept class vote thread. its a couple months old, only 65 posts strong, and not really sticky worthy.
role playing petition. uhm, this probably prevents people from starting their own rp district threads every couple of days... but i don't know. maybe.
Other stuff you could do.
Close the index of ideas thread, copy paste the first post to a new sticky, and lock it. i think some people don't read this because its 194 posts long. not much more than a spam fest in there anyway.
close threads of anyone who clearly hasn't read the guidelines or index. maybe this is a little nazi, but it would cut down on the crap by tons.
ok. whatever. ignore or respond. just thought i'd give some feedback.
