Heres a question thats been itching at the back of my mind, what determines the size of your pet? Am i going to have a bigger pet if i get a dire one over if i get a elder or playful(or was it hearty for max)? or does the size stay the same no matter what evolution you get?

Edit: note i have a level 14 aggressive tiger right now, so yeh, thats why i'm wondering

Each evolution your pet gets bigger. For aggressive creatures it goes aggressive to dire, for defensive creatures it goes playful to hearty. Elder means it is evenly balanced.

The growth of pets hasn't been fully researched to my knowledge. All that is known is that pets do grow when they evolve. When exactly and how much has yet to be figured out. It has been said that hearty pets are bigger than dire or elder ones.

All I know for sure (because I took screenshots for comparison) is that my black bear didn't grow when evolving from "black bear" to "playful bear", but it did grow quite a bit when evolving from playful to hearty.

My bear, Romanai (he's hearty), is much bigger than other bears I've seen (I IWAY/VIMWAY alot so I see many pets), especially lvl 5 ones. Havent seen many other hearty bears bigger than Romanai though.

BTW, my sister has a tiger in Factions and she hasn't noticed it grow that much (or any at all), when it went from normal to playful

I've noticed the pet growth as well, and I think (maybe) that it's tied to specific evolutions on specific pets. For instance, my Dire Lynx is about the size of a level 5 Tiger. I also wonder if it has to do with how you evolve your pet, but I couldn't say for sure.

Honestly, everything I just said is speculation, so take it as you will.

How can you tell if your pet is hearty/elder/etc?

I do apologise, I have only been playing a week and am really enjoying it.

Currently a R/E with a Melandru's Stalker (I think that's right). We are both at level 9.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Type /petname that will reset the name and will add how it's evolving... this happens at level 10 then again at 15 (look in the ranger forum).

Btw. as far as I know Canthan specific pets don't grow.

when I had my wolf it was HUGE....but then I changed to a reef lurker....and he is the same size at level 20 as when I got him at level 5 (as is my guildmates lurker)......dont think they change in size at all (reef lurkers, that is).

Anyone know if White Tigers change in size? My level 18 Dire White Tiger seems to be the same size, will it like that when he reaches 20?
