Interface question: Chat window/tell routing?

Is there a way to open another chat window, or somehow route tells to another window? If I am in a Ascalon City and I get a tell, I might not even see it (especially if I am afk) before it's scrolled off the screen.

If there isn't a way to do this, ArenaNet really needs to think about stream lining the chat system. As it stands now, my chat window is just a garbeled mess most of the time.

sure, just uncheck the local and trade messages. Then all you'll see are the tells (and who wins the favor wars).
