I have a tiger and it is Level 20. I have renamed him. Is there a way to tell if he has changed to elder or dire ???

Just type /petname to reset it.

Elder, Dire, or Hearty are the three choices, not just Dire or Elder.

Hearty is acutally the one you will get MOST of the time.
