I just wanted to ask all the people that run guild wars on two machines sharing the same internet connection (eg two people playing on two separate computers), whether they have been having serious problems with lag and error 7s this past week or so?
There's a thread going on over here... http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10033056
Many people seem to be experiencing severe lag (30+ second spikes) and error 7s when playing with another person on their home networks when they haven't had any such problems in the past.
ANET seems unaware of the problem at present and I thought by posting here we could see whether this was a widespread issue atm or not and if so, perhaps draw ANET's attention to it with a view to a resolution.
ANET plz read. Problems with two computers running guildwars.

don't tell me you are sharing a 56k, then the lag will be justified...
but yeh at times you do just get lag... at boreas, my monk was so laggy that the team finished all 3 mobs (without a monk) and i was still inside the starting area.... lags like crap....
maybe when 2 comp are entering the same area, the info needed to provide to the 2 clients through the same line has just doubled... and it can cause some client crashes...
any hoo, shouldn't this be at technician's corner?!

lol no it's dsl and it is happening to a lot of people this last week or so when it never has before. The thread i linked to in my op is a thread in technician's corner. However as i said I am just trying to cast the net a little wider to see how many are involved.

I have two computers on the same IP and have no problems of that kind.

when i'm super bored i dual run UW and all is fine. i believe this past weekend was ok. didn't notice any error 7 just some basic lag.
And at my friends house for weekend lanparties 6+ people run fine (were not all play GW at the same time. sometimes BF or CS:S)

I have 2 PCs and the only trouble I've had is on my end, a bad power strip was cutting power to the modem. Every time I got disconnected both PCs had lost connection to the internet, not just GW.
Ehrenia
no lag with 3 pcs running gw on the same connection.

3 PC's running GW @ same time through same router on cable connection -> one Err7 last week, but it was the only one in several months (prior problems were due to wiring issues the cable co. fixed).
yeah_hi
2 PCs running GW from a single IP, 2MB ADSL here (in the UK).
Played since beta and never had any problems with lag/007s before (even on event weekends/holidays etc), but I must admit over the last 5 days or so we've been getting a lot of problems. No issues with other online games/general internet connectivity.
Probably coincidental to the OP's similar issues, but thought I'd mention it anyway.

Thankyou for the replies, it seems the issues i was experiencing was just symptomatic of the general lag and error 7 issues affecting the game atm.

Worst lag I've seen since April, 2005 while my daughter and I were on this afternoon, sharing DSL. Toons, mobs, green and red dots zipping all over the place --- nearly unplayable. Jumped to International zone, same thing. No problems with either system, or the rest of the internet.
