We need better error messages then the ones they show.
You all know what I mean when... "error <C007>" or something "has occured", shows up.
And your sat there thinking... "bah"!
Im a programmer so I know it isnt hard to maybes write a bit of code saying
"sorry you cant connect to the server due to: us being absolute idiots" or alike.
But a message like "error <cblahblahblah>" means nothing.
BETTER ERROR MESSAGES so can understand the issue!

If you're really that interested in what each error code means, look it up in the support section of plaync. There's no reason for them to change what the error messages say as most people wouldn't care anyway.

But just out of good coding practice, it usually makes sense to have error messages that are atleast user friendly (I know your not meant to use that term anymore).
Atleast something which would explain slightly where the error lies. In the server? the connection? on your computer?
But your are right in saying you can check on the website.

I am going to suck explaining this but ill give it a shot
They dont want to say "err=7 you got pwnt because our servers took a dump" or "err=7 you got pwnt cause your isp sucks" because theres no way to tell exactly what the problem is every time. Its better to be broad and right then specific and wrong...
Does that make sense?

But it gets frustrating when you dont get any information at all and your presented with just a tiny little message which means nothing.
There are times when you want to aleast know where the issue is.
You can still then go and read the website to get full information.
Anything is better then just getting "err=7....." and having no idea at all.
But I get your point. Maybe its just me being picky.
Mr. G
Err 7 is sacred...Its a big a part of guild wars as...well Guilds - But ive never really had a problem understanding the errors...Is this really that big a problem or are there more pressing matters to attand to, like the failing market?
"If its not broke...."
"If its not broke...."

The problem is, many errors could be caused by a large variaty of (sometimes very specific) reasons, especially error 7. It could range from an unstable wireless network to firewall issues, to providers changing your IP couple times a day etc. There's just no way you could pinpoint for 2.5 million accounts what their problem is.

I'll make it easy on you:
Error58: Your ISP SUZXORS.
Error13: You SUZXORS
Error7: Anet SUZXORS

But all your client knows is that the server isn't sending any data to it, so how can the GW client tell which is which ?
