It will be a new PvP game type, design for four teams competition, with each 4 player per each team. (4vs4vs4vs4). The area will be in a crystal mine. (can be even consider as an extension of the Crystal Mine Thread). Also it is not a mini game, so each player will still keep the stats of their equipment and skills.
Set Up:
Each team will start on one of the four corners. It has the Rez Shrine, as well as a Mine Cart. In the area between, there are several randomly (but still team area proportional) place Crystal Veins in which player can mine. The map will not be too big.
Objective:
There is a time limit (15min). To win, you must have the highest score at the end of time. Your team will earn 3 points for each crystal that is in you mine cart, and 1 point for each kills. Should there be a tie, the rewards (exp and faction points) are split up evenly between the team.
Crystals:
You get crystals in two ways. One way is you Mine them. When come across a Crystal Vein, you can mine it by clicking and “do action” on them (like using a lever), which will allow you to mine for Crystal. This action will take about 20 seconds, and is easily interruptible. After it is done, you will get a Crystal Piece that act like an Hold Item. Your movement speed will also be reduce to walking speed when holding the crystal. Also Knockdown will make you drop the crystal in hand. (for now, will estimate at least 3 crystal out put from each vein before “drying out”, and cap the max amount of player to mine at one vein at same time to 3.)
Another way to get the crystal will be to steal them from another team, either killing a player who is holding the crystal, making them drop and steal it from them, or steal from their Mine Cart. When stealing from the Mine Cart, each player can only steal one crystal at one time.
The main objective with the crystal of course is to find, get, return, and keep as many crystal as you can when the time is over.
Death:
On death, you will be presented with a Rez button. If your team mate are not able to rez you, you can press this button, which after T seconds, will be rez back at your team’s shrine. There are no limit to how many time you can be Rez, but you still would get the DP, and be out of the game for some duration.
Strategy:
Several Strategies could develop.
- Expansionist – team that would spread out, attempt first to take some crystals from other team’s turf, before going back to their turf to collect their veins.
- Defender – team who would be conservative in mining, with majority of teammate guarding the miner. They usually would not move out of their turf, and like to keep a good eye on their Mine Cart.
- Stealer – team who send out players in attempt to steal the crystals from other team’s mine cart. Even if they don’t make it back, it would decrease other team’s final crystal count, thus reducing their score and increasing your winning.
- Ambusher – Much like stealer, but more focus on attacking and disrupting those who are mining, and to make the crystal holder drop, stealing their loot that way.
- Killer – team who would forgo getting crystal, and trying to get their score by just killing.
Mix – Mixtures.
Rewards:
The Rewards to the Winner (and some to the 2nd placer) would be X amount of exp and faction points.
Mods:
-Can also have a 6-on-6-on-6 game, with same set up, but different map.
-If there is a lack of players to fill out all teams, could add an AI team/s in place for filler, and help reduce the player match waiting time.
(NOTE: Yes, this concept is taken very much from the Gold-Rush game type in Bang Howdy. Recommend giving that game a try if you like online real-time turn base strategy combat with cowboys)
