Shutdown on character creation screen...

Whenever I get to the character creation screen, GW just suddenly shuts down. I have NO idea what it is.


System specs:
958 MB RAM
AMD Athalon(tm) 64 3700+ MMX 3DNow 2.2GHz
DirectX 9.0c
ATI Radeon XPRESS 200 256MB

Shared memory alert! Have you ever been able to run GW on that machine?

Anyway, could be a corruption in the gw.dat file. Stick it some where outside the gw folder and d/l a new one. See if that helps. If not, check your error log for anything that shows an error.

The same thing happens in Return to Castle Wolfenstein, whenever a level loads, the game just shuts down. Its really frusturating.

I'm sure you could prolly get those games to run, but it could be many issues, since that GPU is pretty low end. Is this a laptop?

Its a desktop.

Then toss a new GPU in it, they are about 100-150 bucks for something pretty decent.
