32 bit mouse problem/ directx8.0

Hello I've been having the problem of my computer is running directx8.0 which makes my mouse pointer flash and the game looks really bad, I have tried to install directx9.0c several times from microsoft but no matter what I cannot figure how to fully install it or set it up and it wont change it for gw, but when i type in run dxdaig, is says im on directx9.0c when im not, could anyone help or try to guide me how to install directx9.0c

It sounds like you have direct 9 installed. My may want to try installing GW over the existing copy. If you installed GW on Direct 8 then upgraded to 9 after some files maybe missing or not whole.

Installing direct 9 consists of downloading the file and follow the on screen instructions.

Unforchantally I do not believe it was that, I have tried to install directx9.0c the same way before I even bought gw, and it did the same thing, But i'm going to install the offline install but after it install I cannot figure out what to do I hit setup and update a think or to and nothing seems to happen also, is there a spot that directx should go into when I download it automatically goes to my documents.

No, once you have directx 9 installed, running the installer again will just complete really fast and say finished. Please share with us the hardware you're running gw on. Include the processor, motherboard, RAM and video card info. You can goto www.srtest.com, run the test (make sure you allow the active x to install) then report back with your findings.

Ok I did that test and It seemed to come up as UNKOWN for all, I'm not sure what type of video card I have this computer is kind of old its a Emachine, Also I believe my video card may have something to do with it, when I reinstalled gw last night it game me a message saying my video card did not support it, I was wondering what is a descent and cheap video card that would run gw descentally.

if your machine has an AGP slot, and you can find one, a radeon 9200 128mb AGP will work fine, and should be really cheap by now (was only $90 4 yrs ago when i bought mine)
