for all the reasons stated already, GW does not need another lame title, all guildies should help each to the best of their abilities
officers should contribute the most as imo they should be experianced players that have completed the game and have a wide range of knowedge to help and encourage the new players

So, uh.../notsigned for obvious reasons. If you want to be helpful, more power to ya, you'll earn respect by being helpful. Asking to be recognized for your helpfulness? Umm, yea, good-bye respect.

But for crying out loud, don't be so pathectic to start getting me on THAT thing, since the word itself isnt added to any dictionary, the true meaning can only be discovered by seeing how people use it, like i did, not to make up your OWN mind and tell people what it means. owh and I've read your comments guys, i have to agree, it would be unfair. Yet the global idea has potential, and that is what I offer arenanet, although I doubt if it will be implemented. Ah well, we try. ![]() |
noob is an insult
newbie someone whos new to the game
This won't work, and even if it does its not needed(How could you possibly tell whos helping who?). Also helping others is not soemthing you need to be rewarded for. You do it to be nice, not for a reward.

Owh and thanks DeanBB for agreeing with me that guy just doesn't know what hes saying.
Btw, Brother gilburt, if you really are so wise, give me the link to a dictionary naming the difference between newb and noob, and I will admit you're right.
Till that day: You jump to conclusions, base your answers on facts, not oppinions, because some people do care about the truth.
You'll find neither words in a dictionary, so we'll use the closest thing. There seems to be a bit of confusion, but generally the seperate definition idea seems to win out. Not that any of this is on topic. As for the idea, too easily abused and needless extra complication.

My mommy gives me a sticker every time I do something for her.
In other words, low levels have no problem doing missions since people will run them free through easy ones for points towards a title that shows their experienced since they're not experienced enough to get Protector or Cartography titles. Whee!

Lol i hate it when people want to make titles for "helping" people when all you want is the damn title...
We should stop suggesting these things. No one really cares for "helping" other people anyway. Seriously, you think someone will give you a million bucks just because you broke your back to help someone a million times? I'm fine with helping people and all, that's great, but we shouldn't exploit it like this. These suggestions can be too easily cheated.

While I'm the type of player who spends most of his time helping friends, guildies, etc., I gotta say I don't think this is a good idea. Yes, recognition would be nice, but I think this would be in the wrong spirit, and would not be that great for the game. I help others by providing company, advice, etc. However, it's sorta like the "teach them to fish" philosophy. In a setting where there were concrete (titles, points, etc.) rewards, I think it would turn into too much of a competition, and would become too much of a running contest, not the positive assistance it should be. Helping others loses it's effect when it's not out of genuine desire to just assist/help out.
How would this work? In other words, how would the game know you were doing something to help a guildmate out? Would the guildmate have to fill out some form or something? In that case, everyone in a guild would just give everyone else in the guild "helper points" for free to skyrocket everyone to the max rank.
If it's computer-determined, how does it determine it? Is it simply doing a mission, bonus, or quest that you've already done? There are plenty of reasons for doing that- skill capping, item farming, you need to claim a quest reward that's in the area, just because you enjoy it- without having to help someone else.
Finally, why guildmates only? Are good friends who just happen to already be in a different guild unworthy of being "helped"? Of course, if it applied to anyone, you'd get points just for joining PUGs...
