Tombs - How fast are you?

I encountered someone running 5 man tombs runs today, which isn't that remarkable. He did say that ts/vent was a must and that he had a special team build. So I decided to go along for poops and giggles. It took us 2 and a half hours (not counting the time we were in town trying to find people with ts/vent and listening to the leader tell us what skills to bring). I suppose if it hadn't been our first time it might have taken 2 hours. Later I went with an 8 man team and it took 1 hour, pretty much on the dot. Nice efficient team I thought.

With the first team I made around 4k from cash and drops. With the 8 man I made around 3k. Both times I got 1 green, but neither were any good. :S

Now what I wanted to know, is if anyone can go faster than that with 8 man PUGs? One of the guys in the 5 man group claimed he did an 8 man run in 36 minutes. I'm not overly skeptical but I am wondering.

This guys team build was "interesting" but I didn't see it working much faster than that. If the tombs greens were better, maybe it would be worth the time.

Any comments?

I've run with him doing 5 man, I did it for the challenge. I've long since quit running tombs for the greens at the end if you know what I mean. The 5 man run was a lot more enjoyable than even my best 2-3 8 man team runs combined. 5 man you'll rarely get less skilled players even in a pug sitch. Meeting a high caliber of skilled players is really far more than enough reward. Any foo with a bow can finish tombs (I know, I proved it when I started - my first ranger was made in january). On ts made it more fun, by halfway through the second level we all knew what we were doing so the chatter was relaxed.

My fastest for an 8-man group was around 40-45 minutes, but our group had been doing it together for the last 3-5 hours straight. Wasn't a standard B/P build, but close.

I think most 8-man groups do it in around an hour and a half.

where are the tombs?
