It feels wrong to me that someone can buy unlocks for all proph (dunno if core counts) pvp skills.

It ain't gonna affect the way most of us play the game, so why not...

1. Many worked hard to unlock skills, it does devalue their hard work.

2. the work done to get and cap skills, makes the player experenced. Sure, you can buy all the proph unlocks and jump into pvp, but can you use them properly?

3.And the priceing structure.... lol, its almost a whole game just for pvp unlocks...

If it makes ANet some money and it's voluntary and doesn't wreck the game I don't really see a problem.

The update says that the unlocks will only work for pvp characters but if they carry over into pve chars like unlocks purchased with faction normally do (non-elite) then that will mess up some of the low level arena play. As long as it's truly pvp only I think it will be ok.

I think something is wrong with you if you believe you "deserve" something you "worked for" in a game who's motto is "skill>time played."

Tell me what you lose by having other people unlock skills.

Make sense since the population is getting spread thin in previous chapters with the bulk of the players in the newest chapter. Some of those elite are going to be rather hard to unlock with the original henchmen. That and $40.00 for all w/o owning the orginal game ... if you have the money go for it.

Just having the skill does not make you a better player, it's how you use it.

(And no I don't have any plans to purchase unlock packs and I'm no where near 100% on all jobs, just 2.)

This only unlocks skills for PVP use, so no harm done to the game.

The idea is good and will please MANY, expecialy those who do not want the pve content of Factions but still want the skills. I actualy thought the idea was REALY good

Latter.

Since it's only for PvP, and this way players who only buy expansions can get these skills without having to purchase Prophecies (reduced price, and PvP content only), I see nothing wrong with it.

It is what the PvP community has asked for in regards to campaigns.

I think they will add skill packs for each campaign that PvP players can buy through the online store, and eventually the armour, weapons, mods, and even professions for PvP players.

With the added skills in the additional chapters, it is taking longer and longer to unlock all skills. Some one that joins into the game at chapter 4, will be 2 years behind the rest of us, with hundreds upon hundreds of skills to unlock. It would get to the point that new players just would not have the skills available to compete with those that have been around for a long time. Being able to buy these unlocks will bridge that gap, helping to level the playing field.

While ArenaNet DID make a unique system that almost forces players to play PvE (and I'm primarily a PvE player, so this is a good thing) in order to unlock PvP (lest you want to use a template), and that paying to get you out of the fun of PvE and reduced need for faction seems similar to all those lazy people who pay real money for ingame money, it doesn't really matter.

As a PvE player, I don't care what is up with the PvP world, and I feel that this simply allows for freer skill and build tinkering. Plus, they need to add SOMETHING to their online store.

There's already a thread here discussing the skill packs. There's no need to start another thread simply to say "I don't like them" as you can do that just fine in that thread. Closed.
