That's just the model, which gives no indication as to what the components in that specific laptop are.

Some Like It Hot [sake]

I was going to build my next computer, but decided to hold off for a bit. Bought this yesterday to replace my old Dimension 4600 in the meantime:

XPS 420 Mini-Tower: Intel Core 2 Q6600 Quad-Core (8MB L2 cache,2.4GHz,1066FSB)
128MB ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO
19 in 1 Media Reader with Bluetooth
320 GB SATA Hard Drive (7200 RPM)
3 GB DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz (4 DIMMs)
Internal PCI 802.11g Wireless NIC, FH
22" Viewsonic LCD widescreen

Now I just need to upgrade the vc.

A lot of newer games don't like alt-tabbing especially if they utilize multiple cores, basically the game locks your cores and if you try to alt tab its extremely sluggish. If you want to look anything up on the internet like stats or wiki you would have to exit the game. Also a lot of peoples second computers are laptops so they are mobile, I have a wireless router ( behind it in picture ) which enables me to take my laptop anywhere in the condo complex.

Ok so here's my rig finally, nothing special.

Desktop:

Side view:

Front view:

Top/Front View:

In the dark:

*AMD Athlon 64 6000+ w/ Thermaltake Mini Typhoon heatsink.

*320MB 8800GTS (Soon to be G92 512 GTS)

*Seagate 7200rpm 320gig Hard Drive

*ECS GeForce 7050M-M Motherboard (Crap I know)

*2GB of Kingston Hyper-X Gaming Ram.

*Antec 500w power supply

And a Lian Li PC-7B Plus II w/ black finish.

Gets the job done for me, I know the blue lights may be cheesy or whatever, but they were the only 3 speed ones (Change speeds with a switch!) that the store had, so I didn't hesitate.

I also seriously need a new desk, but I'm moving soon so that is all about to change.

We have almost the exact comp specs except the motherboard & power supply. Mine is Asus M2N-SLi deluxe and Thermaltake 700w. Oh, the case is different too lol. My case looks like a bimmer. I'll take a pic of it.

I'll post my laptop pretty soon here, and maybe a few other PC's around the house, but mainly the laptop.

I have the same speakers are you. The bass rocks considering how much I paid for them (4 bucks because they were discontinued by Creative).

Well, I love my 2007 version Logitech G5, best mouse I've ever put my hand on.

The laptop is using a crappy Microsoft notebook mouse.. cause the other logitech wireless mouses went through some.. incidents and don't work now.

So this is my box. It's nothing amazing but it gets the job done for me.

(you'll have to excuse my crappy picture taking skills by the way.)

As for what's inside of it:
  • MSI K9N4 SLI
  • AMD Athlon 64 x2 4000+(brisbane core), Overclocked from 2,100mhz to 2,825mhz.
  • 2GB DDR2-800
  • MSI OC Geforce 8600GT. Currently @ 650/1675/1700(core/shaders/mem)
  • Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Music
  • 40GB +160GB HDD's. (I need to upgrade these sometime.)
  • Lite-on SOHW-1633S DVD-Burner

Nothing at all special...but its what fit into my price range, and it runs all my games just fine, and even on high graphic settings. So eventually I'll get a good gaming computer....eventually.

Edit: And to prove it runs GW just fine: (I kinda took the screenshot when the animated green bar wasn't up at the top but you can see that that's where my computer is on the scale.)

It looks nicely done though, was probably a pain in the butt to set up that stuff though, removing and dismembering all your parts.

So did you overclock massively since you got that now?

How are the temperatures compared to your other setup?

I'd love water cooling, but it'd have no use to me other than looking neat and keeping the PC cool when it's not really needed.
